Hamilton has always been untouchable here. Rosberg seems to have fallen back in line. Mercedes don't seem as far ahead anymore.

You mean his teammate crashing into him.

I've just re-watched that incident, and it's strikingly similar to Hamilton/Rosberg crash in Spain.

mag having an odd but rather large crash, 99.999% he wont be taking psrt in qualifying.

Magnussen is not taking part in qualifying. Car needs a new chassis as the crash snapped off some brackets as well as damaging the gearbox.

Long night for the mechanics at Renault tonight.

so lap record is going to get broken then, .7 seconds faster in q2, surly should be able to do something like that in the race?

maybe not, fastest laps in race seem to be a couple of seconds slower even than q2

Crofty banging on in qualifying about how Button has been ahead of Alonso all weekend and just has it here, lol. Also Mclaren 6th in FP2 and people getting all excited about that being a huge improvement... happens every FP2 as they turn up settings before everyone else.

Fastest ever lap around here is 1:12.275, but that was Ralf Schumacher in the 2004 Qualifying so doesn't count as a record.

Fastest race lap is 1:13.622 by Barrichello in 2004

Need to knock another 0.8s off the current lap time to get to the fastest ever pace.

0.6s between Mercedes and anyone else here. That's pretty impressive after they seemed to be closing it at the last couple of races.

Different tracks, lengths let alone style, more to gain or lose. Over the past two dominant years the actual times between them and other teams varied dramatically, 1 second some places, 2/10ths at others.
