That 'race' was an example of everything that is wrong with F1 at the moment. No one can get close enough to pass so instead they stay out to avoid having to pit and lose track position. You've then got the fuel and engine saving and tyres that can't be pushed for more than a few laps or they overheat, that's if the drivers can get them into the extremely narrow temperature window in the first place. How hard is it to design tyres that wear but can be driven without being too cold or overheating? Both the hyper and the ultra were rubbish today just like in Monaco, with the Super being better than both. Last year's tyres weren't that bad, but this year they're pretty much undriveable and we're still having 1 stop races despite them apparently being a step softer.

I'm still undecided on this race......

Can't decide whether to call it a snoozefest or a borefest.

I think that's the 23rd time I've watched a Canada GP. Can't remember the last time I never enjoyed it.

I cancelled mine a few weeks ago at the end of the football season. Happy with my decision at the minute.

What a ******* **** race. Canada normally delivers!

... chaos.
The first Ferrari win since 2004, and first Ferrari pole sitter since 2001. These facts on their own are quite impressive.

Swearing aside....

It doesn’t matter who wins, by how much or why if the racing is dog ****.

Unless you only care about facts.

Lap 1 was exciting, nice to see Bottas going wheel to wheel. Everything else was very poor in terms of entertainment.

When will they understand that viewers want to see cars battling and overtaking? It seems the owners are far too interested in pandering to the teams. You would almost never see this kind of charade in motorbike racing and it’s not a surprise that it’s way more interesting to watch.

British superbike is the perfect example of excellent entertainment, you can regularly see 4 manufactures in the top 4 places and any one of 8-10 people could win a race.

This means going against Formula 1's own developments and being the cutting edge of the automobile technology.
What you want is to go back to the 70s and 80s, all drivers have equal cars and not much aerodynamics and downforce.
That won't be F1 anymore.

Poor. Liberty Media have a battle on their hands.

I appreciate that F1 has never been competitive along the whole grid, but this is what F1 is battling against in the modern era - sports and entertainment when there's a greater unpredictability of outcome. The chances of 14 of the drivers today winning were thousands to one. I don't blame the track - far from it. Montreal has produced enough good races and moments of action that today it shows just how uncompetitive and predictable F1 is.

F1 is just getting too stale. They need to look to the past to make it more interesting.

Bring back V12s, manual gearboxes, no DRS or other electronic nonsense. Just the raw car and driver, as it was in the more exciting eras when more people watched it.

Who cares if it's not the pinnacle of... I.T. (which is basically what it is now). It will be more watchable.

Mhm, sure. 3 different winners in 7 races wouldn't be called uncompetitive and predictable.
The only thing that bothers me right now is what happens to Kimi.
Is it just how great Sebastian makes the car perform or...?!

It is very unpredictable, actually, and you never know what will happen in the next weekends.

I would call for some changes - the tickets up to 500 euros should be cut in half, to more normal 250 euros, and the TV races should be broadcasted free-to-air to larger audiences.
And maybe the tyres should be made to last less, and changes should be limited. Be limited to 1 change per race or something.
This would have a potential to make some exciting races with finished tyres.

The problem is, we're having these terribly boring races.. yet, look at qualifying. The top 3 teams are so close to each other it should mean incredibly close racing but it just doesn't!
I'm heading over to Spa in August for the race weekend. Oh boy am I hoping for rain. Would be disappointing if we went to a race and it was like today'd.

Three winners from the same three teams... The same three teams as the past three years. Or is it four.

Predictable. Uncompetitive with the remaining 70% of the grid, occasionally competitive with the 30%. What'll happen in France - a new track that F1 hasn't raced at since before some of the current drivers were born? I reckon that it is highly unlikely that McLaren, Force India, Williams, Renault (the home team), Sauber, Toro Rosso or Haas will win. In fact I think it is highly unlikely any of these will challenge for a win, barring an act of god (that's bad weather to most of us).

You can cut the prices all you like - eventually people will stop spending or watching if the product is consistently crap.
