10/10 for me. Delivered.

Vettel went off, rejoined a left hand bend with left lock on then turned right, back end remained planted throughout. Its pretty clear for all to see and pretty obvious the FIA telemetry shows the same.

Appalling commentary.
Back end planted throughout - come on, take off your fanboy glasses and watch it again. A blind man on a galloping horse can see it was not “planted throughout”

Not necessarily aimed at you, but there's something moderately exciting happening in an F1 race and so many are posting at pace and not stopping to think.

Yes, Hamilton was behind him and there was plenty of evidence that Hamilton was having to managing temperatures. However, that doesn't really bear any relevance with what Ferrari were having to do. Even at the grid at the beginning, it was being suggested that Ferrari were facing a brake temperature problem with the unexpected high temperatures. Perhaps they didn't have as large or effective ducts as others - who knows. But the why doesn't really matter, because it appears to have been the case.

If they were managing fuel and Mercedes were not, perhaps the Ferrari engine is more thirsty? Perhaps they just chose that point to manage the fuel - they were able to turn the wick back up later on.

These things happen and change constantly in races all the time. Yet now, when some people are not thinking as rationally as they might, they're suddenly reasons to not deserve a win, as though Ferrari and Vettel thought that the answer to their problems would be to drive off the track and then re-enter to cut up Hamilton and everything remain exactly the same at the end of the lap and at the end of the race.
Toto wolf said in his interview that he wasn't sure if hams car would even last the race.

Merc had lots of issues in there garage before the race started

People have referred to Hamilton at Spa when the boot was on the other foot, but the better example is Fuji the the year before, when Massa and Kubica were doing their best impressions of Villeneuve and Arnoux. Both were leaving the track and pushing each other off the track on re-entry. No penalties were applied (or even investigated as I recall) and that aspect of the sporting rules haven't changed since then.

I took them off, he didn’t lift off and actively turned right. Prove me wrong...

I am probably the biggest anti-Vettel fanboy ever, but he was sawing away at that wheel and waiting for the rear to hook up again while staring at a wall if it didnt come together. Takes serious balls to keep your foot down in that situation, he didn't deserve the penalty and we didn't get to see the conclusion to Hamilton and Vettel actually scrapping it out.

Poll Added :)

6/10 for me. Another track this year where there was very little overtaking without drs. Hamilton was clearly faster than the Ferrari, yet couldn’t get by once in the turbulent air. Also why vettel went off. Ultimately leading to the controversy.

Funny this is, despite the lack of overtaking and people claiming to not watch again, I suspect this is fantastic exposure for F1. Social media has lit up.

And 95% of the paddock (including at least one of their other own driver stewards, who has challenged for more F1 world championships than Emanuele Pirro has career points) disagree with them.

Who also don’t have access to the telemetry.

And that is the issue.

He was off track, he knows the rules, slow down, let Lewis past fairly, rejoin and carry on racing.

You keep your foot in, you rejoin causing Hamilton to brake heavily to avoid a crash, then you get a penalty.

Oh we’re moving the goal posts now? You said the rear was planted throughout and he turned right onto the racing line. I have proven that wrong, I have nothing else to add.

Nope, same goal posts. The wheel turns right. You need to watch it closer. You have proven nothing. The FIA disagree with you.
