Cannot set up RAID!?! Help-usss?

I'll keep the 16Kb for a while then and see how other games load.

Specifically looking for offline single player loading times. How were they in HL2?
They were good - however I had 1GB of RAM then. Now (since Fri) I have had 2GB of RAM so there is less caching to pagefile so it's hard to comment. Either RAID0 was very fast, just the 64K faster than the 16K in games. I suppose you could try 32KB size if you wanted, as a happy medium.

Also: How do I find out whether it's using NCQ or not?

EDIT: Seems I need to use AHCI. When I tried that it errored loading the OS. Can I use both RAID and AHCI?

In RAID0 I believe it defaults to T[agged]CQ. NCQ is disabled automatically IIRC.

What about AHCI, do you just mean use SATA normally? You can run a RAID and non-RAID together if that is what you are asking, all you need to do is enable and disbale RAID on the correct ports.

Theres a thread somewhere on here with a link showing that ncq actually slows performance in anything but intensive server use (where it shows a massive performance gain). Smids? ;)

I've also read NCQ = bad except on servers. I believe I saw this on StorageReview.
