Canon 40D Info

I really want to see similar tests on the D3 now, and see how the ISO 25600 fares.
I think it's safe to say that ISO 25600 is going to be unusable, much like ISO 1600 is on point and shoot cameras.
The Canon 1D MKIII has a pixel pitch not far off the Nikon D3 and this is what ISO 3200 & 6400 are like.

ISO 6400 is just about useable; pushing that an extra 2 stops is either going to be mega noise or a water colour image after noise reduction has been applied in camera.

Instant Monet :D

Just collected my 40D, no time to play with it as I'm off to the pub for the England match. I will say that the shutter sound is very different, going to take some getting use to after using the 20D and then the 30D.

Sig updated :D

Has anyone else been suprised by how much the 40D has dropped in price since it was annouced, its down now from around £950 to £800. If it carries on like this by March next year its likely to be around the £650-£700 mark.

Yes its quite good value, one place for £809 with a 3 year warranty with acidental cover.

Then you have import for £650 delivered.

Very nice prices indeed.
