I'm 6'2" and had no problem whatsover in my 106. In fact it was a really comfortable place to be. I'm always considering selling the Yaris and replacing it with another GTi.
The main thing to check is that the engine idles ok. There was a common fault which gave lumpy idleing..mine used to stall when slowing down at traffic lights for example. The problem can be caused by several different sensors and it can take several trips to a garage before you manage to locate and fix the cause of the problem.
The alarm sensors are prone to failure and your car alarm may start going off randomly. You can turn the sensors off with a button but you're better off getting them replaced.
Theres also the airbag warning light fault which thankfully is usually just a plug under the drivers seat which has come loose.
I believe the GTi-6 also shares the last two faults.
Other than that they're great cars which react well to simple modding. They handle like a gokarts and the induction noise from a foam filter is addictive
