Can’t decide, Z4m or 335i?

they still arnt the same sort of car tho. a 2 seater sports car and a larger saloon car

It's not a Saloon car, it's a Coupe.

I would imagine the Z4M he is looking at is also the Coupe version.

For perspective, some pictures of both of the cars:

a Sports version of the 335 couple or would that be an SE. If it is the later, Z4M, the standard SE coupe handling on the diesel I had was poo in comparison to the E46 Sports which is firmly planted without the drifting and unsuportive seats.

If i go for the 335i I am going to try and find one with the M-Pack which is the same as the sport (i think)

If buying a Z4M new from within the UK, and I would urge you not to do so, make sure you get a sizeable discount of no less than 8% off the list price. BMW are struggling to shift them as they have a bit of a growing reputation for loosing loads in a very short space of time and there are some very nice nearly new ones around for £10K off what the owner paid 3 to 4 months before!

Im not going to buy the car new, the one i found has about 6 000 km on the clock and is 42 000 euro down form 67 000 euro new:eek:

I to have been tempted by a couple of nice black SL 55's and 500's I've seen lately, the image is a little old for me yet though I think, and hopefully we will be needing four seats soon.

I would love an SL, they are such nice cars but I am a bit young for it and I could not afford a decent one.

Bloody hell wish i was as rich as u.lol. what u do for a living? Can I ask why these 2 cars, they are totaly different realy bar the bmw badge or are you a bmw badge man? If you have a family then its a 335 and a couple its a z4m in my book no desicion nessacary

I run my own business (2 of them now) I would not say I’m rich, Czech house prices are quite low and my mortgage rate is fixed at 3.99% so I can afford to splash out a little, also as it’s a company cars it’s all tax deductible here. I think it will be my last decent car because I am planning to go into clinical practice in the next 2 years and will be taking a massive pay cut along with moving back to the uk.

Why these 2 cars? Well I don’t need a practical car because if I ever need to move anything large I can take one of the company runarounds. The only thing that is REALLY important is that it can handle the snow in the winter. I have never owned a BMW my girlfriend just bought a new 320i and I have to say I am very impressed by the build quality. I went from a Ford Fiesta --- > MG ZR --- > Golf V5 + a Remaped TT roadster so I just fancy trying a BMW. I drive my dads E-Class from time to time but Mercedes does not really do it for me as much as the BM. Im not into Jap cars and can not think of anything else.

Im am going to try and arrange a 2 day test drive of both cars over the next couple of weeks, I am not in a huge rush to buy it so I will just hold out until the right thing comes along. If it is a 335i I would like it in Black / Red leather + M – Pack.
If it’s the Z4m Coupe black or blue would be fine.

nah z4m is ugly no matter what you do to it, its just all wrong, but the 335i coupe is beautiful. A local chap has just got a shiny black 57 plate 335i coupe, i think it is the car I am second most envious of in the village, the 1st is the 911 GT3RS btw :p

Yes I know its a coupe, I still say they different breds of car realy. 1 being a 2 seater sports and the other being a 2+2 as they like to call it. Just thing he would be comparing it to a merc kompresser amg , porche boxster, s2000, etc....

The only thing that is REALLY important is that it can handle the snow in the winter.

I have no idea what the winters are like in Czech but if this is a real concern maybe you should be thinking about an Audi or Porsche with 4WD and some good winter tyres? My house mate used to have an M5 and it was not much fun in the snow

Z4MC for me, the 335i is is nice quick motorway cruiser. The coupe is a more hardcore grin inducing drive, both have similar performance figures although you don't feel the speed in the 335i.

The Zed is useless in the snow, although I can't imagine the 3er is much cop either.

Sorry for the off topic post but what makes the 3 series coupe a coupe I thought it was the exact same dimensions, wheelbase etc., as the 4 door saloon just with only 2 doors?

I thought that would be it, it's just a shame how the term has been watered down especially considering the diversification of car models that has happen in the last 20 years.

Does that make the Suzuki X-90 a coupe then?

Technically speaking I guess it would. How tragic :(

I think the worst abuse of Coupe is the Citroen Xsara Coupe. It was a 3 door hatchback!
