Got a 750gb seagate drive here, installed into my system this evening. The drive is showing up fine in bios connected to an intel sata port using a brand new cable. However when i go into disk management to initialize it, im met with the following.

Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

Also, in properties it shows as intel raid0 volume, scsi disk device, 1397.27 gb?

My other two drives are listed as ATA disk devices, (samsung 840 ssd and samsung F3 1TB). AHCI enabled in bios.

maybe it was part of a raid array? ifso you need to set to raid in bios with just that drive attached press alt and I just after or before splash screen to enter raid console and delete the raid array ,then it should let you initialise it in windows

im not 100% sure but that's my guess

it wont let you do anything with the drive till the raid has been deleted off it

Sorted, had been in a RAID0 array (status showed as failed). Couldnt select delete, but reset it to ordinary disk. Initialized and showing up fine in windows. Cheers for the help wazza.:)
