I need to fit a capacitor to my motherboard and need to confirm that i'm wiring it up the right way. Is the side thats got the lines going down it the negative pole?
Bit of superglue and a large hammer will work wonders on modern electronics.
If you're using a standard soldering iron then try placing just a tiny bit of solder on the tips of the capacitor and placing it down in the right place quickly before it sets. Avoid placing extra solder on it after it's in place. You'll only end up shorting other components.
