I think it all depends on the expectations. If you want to try and win, go with experience. If you don't care about winning but want to be in better shape for the world cup take the younger generation.

Thing is 4 years of no transfers to reap money from is a long time for Arry..

As a manger you need players who want to play for you unforuntly not all the players picked seem to want to play . As a general room of thumb work out the wages of the england team and compare it with other teams we play against .the club managers would not waste there money for nothing if they did not think the players are worth it

Just wanted to necro this to lol at all those saying Harry would be great for England. At least some of us had sense and didn't get swept up in the media hype machine. He is one dimensional manager who cannot cope with any form of pressure and useless beyond a little motivational ability.

Saying all that we have a useless England team so a useless manager would not be too amiss :p

Yep, the FA would be insane to give him the job after his performance as Spurs manager this second half of the season, Liverpool fans may not like him but Hodgson is a far far far better manager/coach/tactician and even he is too 'small time' to be considered for England manager. The FA just need to face facts that there aren't any English managers good enough for the job.

Was thinking the other day things have gone awfully quiet on this front, not sure what to read into that other than perhaps the FA are waiting until the end of the season before making some sort of announcement re: e.g. Redknapp.

At the very least it would be nice to know what their intentions are i.e. stick with Pearce for the next friendlies, stick with Pearce until after Euro2012, bring a new man in by day X, or whatever.

I'm convinced it's a done deal and I think everyone at Spurs knows this from the board through to players. Their loss of form is to coincidental to the week of Cappello's departure. Some of those players know they won't be around. FA have handled this very poorly.
