Capital One Cup - Fourth Round ** Spoilers ** [27/28 October 2015]

Wow another terrible result. Spend hundreds of millions, cant beat Middlesbrough at home..

i said the other week how awful delay looked. Everyone was like, stf* he has scored all these Championsleague (qualifier) goals.

Can't see us winning anything this year. Bad tactics.

does anyone (bigger clubs) even take the cup seriously?

City had a very strong starting 11 out last night.

Iheanacho had a great game playing just behind Bony. Always wanted the ball, cool under pressure, moved the ball quickly and ran with the ball when he had space (which he found quite a lot of). Brilliant work for the second goal and fantastic vision to pick out KdB when a lot would have taken the shot on.

Palace never really got into the game, city just controlled from start to finish. Shame to see Zaba go off injured again.

Good night to be a blue though. :)

Not after losing to lower league teams...

Even when the top teams put out a strong team do the players really care?

Unless there are 1st team places up for grabs then I don't think they do tbh. Kinda like the international friendly borefests.

Coupled with the spate of injuries sustained and fixture congestion is it really even a good idea at all...?

Klopp will have looked at the results and teams that have been knocked out of the tournament and will be thinking its a good chance for a trophy in his first season. I think he's going to field a pretty strong side in the next round.

With the performances I've seen so far i don't think an extended champions league run is something we need to be concerned about.

Despite Chelsea and Arsenal going out the day before he still put out a weakened side yesterday.

Whether we put out a decent side will depend much more on how the fixtures work out and if our injury problems have started to clear up.

We don't then play again until the Sunday rather than the Saturday so injuries permitting we should put out a stronger side than yesterday. The likes of Sakho and Sturridge (if he's fit to begin with) aren't likely to play given their fitness record but those aside playing Sunday-Wednesday-Sunday shouldn't be a massive problem for the majority of the squad.
