Capital One Cup Semi-Final ** Spoilers ** [20/21/27/28th January 2015]

Decent team performance but nothing in attack yet again. Lambert and Mario need to be shipped out while we can in January and Johnson should just be taken out back and shot.

Lol we aint signing ****, especially not something resembling a striker, seasons a write off unless Sturridge gets fit and stays fit

A lack of firepower over the 2 legs cost us. We could have put the tie to bed in the first leg and had our chances in the first half today to have been a couple of goals up and failing to take them has cost us.

You can't take too many positives from losing a semi-final but our overall performance over the 2 legs has been very good and the big plus, particularly today but ever since he's been back in the side was Mignolet. He looked an accident waiting to happen a month or so ago but since he's come back in the side he's been really good and he was excellent today.

Why has Lucas been moved forward and Gerrard put back

The last sub killed us. Lucas was the one that had to come off, not Moreno. We had no shape and all Chelsea had to do was kick it in the corners and play out time. We should have gone to a 4-2-4 not whatever we ended with.

What do you make of Sterling playing a more central attacking player BaZ ?

Right now it's the only option we've got. Long-term his best position is in one of the 2 roles off the front but if he can improve his finishing (or more specifically his ball striking) he could be an excellent striker too.

For such a young player he's so clever. His movement both on and off the ball, the way he makes life so hard for defenders when the ball's played up to him, is incredible.

Not directed at me but think its a simple answer.
Amazing behind a good striker

Crap on his own bar the odd glimpse

He does create a lot of space when he runs at defenders thats for suer

Probably the closest England has to a player in that Messi role at the moment I think

I like Mario and even Lambert but at least one has to go, probably Mario as Rickie can change a game a bit and relieve pressure at times.

Should've moved Sterling to wingback when Mario came on as well rather than Henderson. Needed his energy in the centre to cover for Lucas and Gerrard.

Probably but I could understand that a bit. With the game so tight he didn't want to lose Lucas for the defensive side of things nor Gerrard's ability to pinch a goal. And Sterling at RwB didn't work at the weekend, so much so that Borini ended up moving there and Sterling back through the middle by the end of the game.

Lallana should have came on though. All our joy against Chelsea in both legs came when we got players in behind Matic and as the game wore on Coutinho tired and we weren't pressing as high or getting behind their midfield. Hindsight's great but I'd have rather seen Lallana on for Markovic, gone to a back 4 and then had Coutinho, Lallana and Gerrard off Sterling.

Wait Lallana was on the bench? I assumed he was injured due to not starting/not being one of the first subs. **** me. Bad by Brendan tonight

I watched the game, and as a neutral the only difference between the two teams was Liverpool have no quality upfront at all. I never thought they were going to score but I could see a Chelsea goal coming all game. Costa should have been sent off though.

Enthralling match, great atmosphere and relentless pressure should have seen the game over before extra time but never mind, Wembley here we come.

What an entirely different season Liverpool could/would have had if Sturridge had remained fit. Still, they should have replaced him and failed to do so.

It was a pretty awesome night
The final should be a good day too as supporters get a far better ticket allocation for League Cups than FA Cups so they'll be at least 35-40k fans from whichever team make it.:)

heh kind of don't want spurs to make the final now. chelsea will embarass us

Odd, you beat us last time at Wembley and just battered us last time we met
But yeah, hope you don't get through.

The ref was shocking again last night, there's been so many bad performances by officials this season.
Both teams should've have players sent off and Chelsea should've had definitely one if not 2 penalties.
If the ref didn't see Costa's stamp on Can that's fair enough, that happens, but he definitely saw Henderson's handball and completely bottled giving him a 2nd yellow, that's inexcusable.
Both 'keepers were good last night although both teams finishing was poor and I thought Zouma was excellent, he's going to be a beast.
Throughout the whole tie Liverpool were never in control of it, they huffed and puffed but never managed to get their noses ahead.

My voice is not quite right this morning. :D

Allocation has been announced at 31,689 and we have the west end of the stadium. Roll on the 1st of March. :)
