Capital One Cup Semi-Final ** Spoilers ** [20/21/27/28th January 2015]

I thought Zouma was excellent

Really? He almost gifted us a goal in the first half when he flicked a ball on for Sterling and his positioning when Coutinho had his chance first half too was terrible.

He's big, strong and quick but he looks far from being ready on yesterdays display.

He only recovered because Terry held Sterling up. On another day he would have been at fault for 2 goals - not what I'd call excellent.

Didn't see Terry hold Sterling up, that's just good teamwork if you ask me.
By the way, do you know if there's any precedent set as regards retrospective action for players abusing supporters?

I'm not sure if that's a loaded question. Suarez got a ban for it - 1001 other players didn't though.

Why, what happened?

It's not loaded at all.
Skrtel on more than one occasion was giving a section of the crowd a ****** sign and as I haven't seen players do that before I wondered whether it was ever looked at.

Haha :D

Like I said, Suarez got banned for giving Fulham fans the finger. I can think of several other incidents where players done similar or the same things but nothing was done about it. As I've said in the past, the FA only act if the media make a big thing about something and this is the first I even knew about it so I guess nothing will happen.

It was quite funny, he was getting dogs abuse and just gave some back :p
The fans weren't bothered by it so hopefully nothing will come of it.
Did you swear back at him, Johnny?
I 'may' have been joining in his song in the 1st place ;)

Skrtel, Skrtel you're a ****. Skrtel, you're a ****.
It's quite catchy.
I thought it was aimed at Costa?
Nope, he turned to the crowd and hid it from the ref.

lol, Quinn was banging on and on about how excellent the defending was at that moment from Zouma because he got back, but as Baz says he flicked it on which was very poor. He misjudged a pretty simple ball, stepped up too far and got his header all wrong while basically under zero pressure. Terry came across and both forced Sterling to slow down as he tried to decide what to do and IIRC he tried to cut back inside Terry which once again slowed him down, changed his direction and allowed Zouma to catch up with the play. From recollection how he got the ball off Sterling was incredibly clumsy and lucky anyway, it was because Sterling was trying to go around Terry that the ball was side on and could be got at.

Zouma was poor all game long, really poor. LIke with Coutinho coming at him he just stepped to the side leaving a huge gap, if Coutinho could shoot that should have absolutely cost Chelsea a goal. Zouma had a very poor game saved by Coutinho/Sterling/most of the side not knowing how to put the ball in the net.

If both stamping offences are considered violent conduct by Oliver during his match review, will they be treated as separate incidents?

i.e. Could Costa potentially receive two 3-4 game bans?

I think that happened to Joey Barton when he went nuts vs City. He didn't get the additional game for each red card incident though.
