Capping FPS

I doubt I could tell the difference between 120-144 but the system did once drop to 85Hz and I easily noticed something was off when running around in game compared to the 120 I normally use.

Can you really not tell the difference between 60 and 120? It's a night and day difference to almost everyone, outside of those who use a controller for everything.

I know there's a difference, but playing, casually, I can't really tell, unless I'm paying attention to it. But maybe as I didn't mention, I don't really play fast-paced/competitive games, just the odd open world/single player, as long never drops from 60, and all at ultra or high, not an issue for me.

I agree, lol. There is a huge difference between even 90 and 60. The difference gets less noticeable the higher you go but I think most people would top out at about 120. Play for a while at 90 then going back to 60 is really noticeable.

When playing RE2, I could tell if dropped from 60 (Vega 56 at the time). I think I started capping at 60 after playing Skyrim for months, as anything over 60 would be an issue (engine issue, I guess)

I don't know about AMD Radeon software but NVIDIA certainly works and so does RiverTuner. I now use NVIDIA software since I don't need to run RiverTuner ( RiverTuner is not required for MSI Afterburner, it just adds a few features that I don't want.). NVIDIA seems to be a little more accurate than RivaTuner. I guess that's to be expected though.
