Hi all im struggling to choose the right capture card can anyone help....

I want to capture game play and edit for voice over in 1080 but im stuck... does it matter that i run a dvid cable to 144hz monitor as some i have seen i need to run hdmi through to record.

any help would be good
thanks in advance

All you would need to do is run both your DVI-D cable to your monitor and a HDMI output to your capture card then ensure that you set windows to mirror the output form your DVI to your HDMI.

The only drawback you may face with that is audio as you may need to go from your audio output into the capture then into your headphones/speakers.

Out of wonderment, why a capture card? You could use MSIAfterburner for free or pay a little bit of money and get DXTory and not need a card.

cheers for the info...

I do have action but ive been having issues which i have just sorted out...

is it really worth the 100 quid or so to get a good capture card over the software

IMO no.
I don't see the point in a capture card, spend the money on a decent size fast HDD for a dedicated recording drive and you're good to go!
