I played in the same era as all those clans, though I mainly played Instagib and KOTS myself

I started a clan called RmR (mainly instagib, though we had an RA2 team as well), I was RmR^StaN^RmR

Such a long time ago now! Though our clan stuck around until Q2 Instagib died out pretty much (clanbase cups stopped, then so did the rest of the scene).

That was him - Vorvavoo. It wasn't RA2, it was just 2v2 TDM. ****ing power armour! Although I do remember BFG'ing my own partner in mid-air. What a shot

Yeah I remember Mrs Paddok, always found on the CTF servers.

I played on Wireplay under the alias Sabotaj / {AL}][CeMaN. Mainly dueled but did also play TDM for clans including Rv, CoG, LL, AL.

Mrs Paddok, I think he was. Nice bloke. He was in NL, The Nightlords, I think it was.

I used to play with WAC, was a guy in your clan called niggles I think ? He was cool. Back in the day when we only used IRC

Seem to remember there was a dial up connection only cup, sure you came off your normal DSL connection to play and destroyed everyone

I remember WAC, played with you guys a lot... on Jolt normally wasn't it? And yep, Niggles was in our clan

Haha I also remember that cup! Borrowed a mates old modem to take part

yeah was the jolt servers, still have the mod packs somewhere

First thing I did when I returned to PC gaming last year was find the new quake servers but its not the same

How is it we played on such bad connections with rain guns and suffered less lag than now ! Really would love a well populated arena shooter again

I've been waiting for a new one for a long time

Currently I'm playing Hawken which is very deathmatchy, quite fun

Though more of a hybrid fps/mech game.

Tried Nexiuz but servers seemed empty :/

The railgun is Quake 2 is still my favourite, the netcode in that meant you had to lead it (directly proportional to your ping)... Quake 3 onwards were slightly different though. People still play the original UT online (including instagib), but I never liked that as much.

Getting that gib when you were hooking in a different direction and the oppo was also hooking was such a buzz, true skill

Not like spamming rockets for hours

BF3 & PS2 is all I really play now, Nexiuz showed promise but like you said no one playing it

Ah yes, almost forgot about the hook! That was a lot of fun

I remember how different servers had different speeds and whatnot for the hook, made for some interesting games

Yeah I play those too, though less BF3 nowadays (preferred Bad Company 2 tbh). Normally always playing Sniper in games like that

Anyone remember [S7] (Section Seven) by any chance? Fairly obscure Quakeworld clan who were around on the Wireplay forums, a load of us rocked up to the 2nd Insomnia LAN party one year I think... quite satisfying and yet depressing to check and see that Insomnia is still running, albiet on their 48th now

I remember old QW times, ASE ftw!

Remember Rv and HooD, although I played unclanned back then...

Always played on Wireplay, Jolt, Multiplay!

Soon moved to UT'99 and played that to death for many years (SkW, 6T3, UK etc) from 2000 to probably 2004 (TDM and CTF), never took to UT2003.

Played WoW a few years and then back to FPS for BF:BC2 and now BF3.

Actually loving TDM in BF3, reminds me of those QW/UT/BF1942 years! Well worth a try!

Holy thread revival

Hey...I remember some of you, I even sat next to some of you at that Insomnia event that was mentioned above....I was [KAT] Scratch and I will dig out my old photos from the Insomnia event. I have about half a dozen mostly of KAT and CoG.
