Seems that the most elegant solution to making keyless fobs more secure would be to add an accelerometer or tilt sensor, so they don't transmit when the fob is sat still in your house. I don't know if any manufacturers are doing this yet though.

Mercedes are definitely, the fob goes inactive after being idle for 2 mins (you can also manually disable it on the fob too I believe?), Ford have followed suit and BMW too supposedly now.

Ultimately, the best protection from car theft is adequate insurance (and ofc meeting the terms of that insurance to ensure it is valid).

AutoWatch Ghost would help too if you wanted to keep the car.
