It's all I need...

I was leaving for work this morning when the drain cover gave way. Wasn't sure to laugh or cry!

It's well and truly stuck anyway. :(

Jack it up, remove wheel, shove a plank or something else suitable on top of drain, replace wheel, release jack, job done!

Why would you need to remove the wheel? Bit of an unnecessary step, no?

Hope you got sorted OP.

Was thinking of clearance, but yeh, maybe no need to remove the wheel :)

Tbh, just looked closer at the pic. There doesn't appear to be much clearance, if any. Might struggle to get a jack in that side. Might have to start at the other side and progressively move along an axle stand or something.

No room to get a jack under plus the ground slopes a bit towards the back. I did try revving it in a moment of panic even though I was doing it in vain.

Booked a tow recovery to come and winch it out later tonight if they turn up. They already phoned me back trying to reschedule for tomorrow until I told them I need it out tonight. :(

Public road? Council drain which should not have collapsed. So call them and tell them to get it sorted. If any damage to wheel or car then they liable.

At least once the car is freed it will be funny! :p

Until then though, total PITA. You got it out yet OP??

It's on private property not council or public road. Don't think a mat will help either :D

Recovery guy says he's coming at 10pm!
