As a lot of you know, i'm getting a Fiat Grande Punto very soon, got my test on 29th w00t :D

My cousin was selling his subs as he's just moved into a new place and needed the cash.

So i bought them off of him.

What you guys think? Ignore the kitten lol

Cost me a total of £150, i'm only keeping the 2 Kicker Impulse ones though, as 4 is too much i think, so i'm selling the side 2 subs.

Do you think they were worth it?

There is around 2500watts in total so i'm told, but i know naff all about car speakers etc...

Opinions?

Andy

2500watts PEAK i bet

To be honest i would say its a bad buy. With speakers its always best to buy new so you know the history.

£150 would get you a quality single sub, and trust me thats all you'd ever need. if peopel tell you otherwise then they obvious dont know how to set a system up, or your death.

personally, i wouldnt bother

I've been offered £85 for the 2 side ones, so i'm paying next to nothing for the Kicker Impulse ones, that's the way i see it, which is fairly good dont you think?

yeah because Kicker are a fairly reputable company, what are the 2 side ones?

Just some generic ones, not too bad sounding though for starter subs for some little kid just starting out lol

would have been better to of bought a decent £80ish sub, in a calculated box that has been made, for £100 you'll have a perfect sub and box package.

I can get my dad to build me a box by the way, does them for my bro's mates all the time, so no problem there.

The way i see it, for 2 Kicker Impulse subs, for £65, i can't go wrong, i guess i'll see what they sound like in my car when i get it and go from there.

Andy

£100 would get you a decent Infinity sub and amp package off eBay which I would imagine will sound a hell of a lot better.

yup. 4 subs makes james angry. christ i can barely sustain my two subs in my room at full pelt, they really are that loud. There no application outside spl competitions that require the use of more than 1 sub in a car*

1 high quality sub in a purpose designed box = what you need.

* unless they are so poor that you need more than one, or unless your using a trick install with a smaller sub up front to pull the bass forward.

Everyone saying about me having 4, that is why i stated that i am selling the 2 generic 10" ones and keeping the 2 Kicker 12" ones.

I don't understand why you seem so fussed over £85 when you dont care about the £3000 you are throwing away simply by turning the key in your new £10k Fiat Punto?

I'm not fussed about it at all, when did i say i was.

You like creating arguments don't you, go take a drive in your mondeo which is probably falling apart as we speak :)

no, we're talking about you having two kickers actually. regardless of how many you buy.

buy them all, sell them all, buy 1 decent sub. if you want quality, thats how to do it.

I was going to but the front passenger wing just fell off. I should have bought a brand new Supermini instead.

ROFL, best comback ever :D

oh and on topic, I'm going to agree with the many here and say that one sub in a decently built enclosure is more than enough for most circumstances.

single sub in a form of enclosure (read about ported or sealed etc) + mono block would be plenty imo.
