ive not read all the thread, but id recommend going to the kicker site and finding out the recommended size for those impulse subs. theyre not bad subs at all.
if youre going for a pair of 12s, then if you want absolutely tons of bass, go for the ported box option, if you want it a bit more tame, then go sealed (usually smaller too).
as for power, try and get an amp with at least 100rms more than you really need, a strained amp sounds awful, and its easier to kill a sub by underpowering it.
kicker stuff is usually underrated when it comes to power figures too.
