Car taken without consent!

Police matter number one for the theft of a motor vehicle.

The parking space debate is a civil matter and is actually more difficult to solve without taking action like the OP has.
Take this as someone who's car parking spaces were next to a school and were used by others on a daily basis.
For it to be theft you have to prove intent.
However I would invoice the Takeaway for the car.. Tell them if its not paid or the car returned you'll see them in court

I wonder how many of those claiming the OP is being petty would be perfectly happy for someone to park on their driveway/private land? My guess would be zero.

Signs would really help, never ever in the history of motoring has someone ignored signs. /S

Pretty sure this is theft by the tow company. They shouldn't just be dragging it away off private land.

I'd call the police and report it as stolen tbh. Then tell the company they are now handling stolen goods.

Even better, put something in its place that you can have painted or wrapped to proclaim that Taiwan isn't Chinese. That usually gets the Chinese frothing at the mouth.
Free Tibet!

If were getting (more) get two clapped out old mercs and if they go get four...

alternatively put up some signs with the parking charges and start issuing fines

Buy another A Class Merc, same colour/year/spec and park it in exactly the same spot.
Park-ception.

Ask a solicitor to send them a letter, together with proof of ownership of the land, saying you will take legal action if they don’t stop parking there. Might scare them off.

Then OP will be arrested for a hate crime.

Casual racism aside, the chinese restaurant are obviously under the impression that they are as permitted to use the car park as any of the other buildings.

It would probably be more fruitful to clear up that misunderstanding instead of playing silly buggers.

Boring.

Line out spaces on your land, and clearly indicate it's private?
Ideally, this would solve things. The Chinese themselves put lines outside the restaurant for the 3 spaces - even though it's not their land and that area was never meant to be for parking.

To be fair, we've been here 20 years and parking has always been an issue. The old boy we bought the property from claimed all the car park was his and put a chain up after 5pm to block off the car park altogether. He was so fierce, no one challenged him.

We had a clamper for a bit, until it was made illegal. That was exciting. Had a couple of police call outs.

We've provided the Chinese with documents showing who owns the land. In fairness, it's not actually the Chinese that are the issue. It's people treating it like a public car park and then getting arsey when asked to "get orf my laaand"

As for the lad who took the car, he knew it was a flier. He said he wanted to get it done before anyone saw him. He smashed the window, couldn't undo the steering lock, dragged the car with a winch that only got it "just" on the bed and apparently half the car was hanging off. I rather hope the lad was wishing he'd never got involved haha - good. :)
