Car to Salary Ratio's

well my gti is approx 1.3% of annual salary

wifes a4 avant was 62.5 % of annual salary :)

At the time I bought my car it was about 80% of my annual salary. If I were to buy the same car now for the same price as I did in 2002, then it would be about 40%.

mine is worth a bit less than about half my salary, car =11k salary=about 27k depending on overtime.
most expensive car i have had though and i wont be buying another one at that much money!

Car cost me 4.75% of salary (bought outright)
Costs me 0.625% to insure it and about 1% to service it

Bike cost me 2% of salary to buy and 0.3% to insure (and does over 100mpg)

I like cheap, reliable motoring. Never had a thing go wrong on either so far :D

At the time of purchase my car was probably worth around 20% of my salary. But the mods I have done to it amount to probably around just under 10% of my salary. Scary really...

Heh, the Elise was about 30% of my annual salary. The Audi, perhaps 15-20%.

Together, almost 50%

That's about right, I get about 28 to the gallon if I'm lucky :)

I probably do less than 6k a year so it doesn't set me back too much.

i would have been happy with that, still would...
850 got about 22 and i do about 12-14k, well i did at the time, i do less now.

Yeah, but it was an 850 so you always had two dogs, some bricks, a picnic blanket and various power tools in the back didn't you? ;)

Just worked out the running costs and I think it's about 1% a year or 1.5% including insurance.
