So you have 5% with which to pay for food, fun, petrol, clothes, stuff, holidays etc etc etc?

Not neccesarily paid for out of his salary. Maybe he had savings, like me. I only paid £500 of my salary for my car, the rest was saved.

My car is worth about 40% of my annual salary at the moment, I bought it outright.

Edited: Its a 1998 Civic 1.8 VTI worth about £2.5k.

I win!

0%. It was a gift from my Grandparents to my wife and I when my Grandad had to stop driving due to the big C.

It's worth ~4% of my annual salary.

Because I earn such a piddly amount, my beloved car is worth about a 30% of my annual salary, that's the car, and the insurance put together though.

Car itself costed a month and half of my wage. Work done to it has easily used a month of my wages. My insurance is worth a little more than my monthly wage.

I paid ~20% of my annual salary on my car. However since then my salary has gone up and my cars value has gone down a bit so now my car is worth about 10% of my salary. My bike is about 9%. My car and bike are about the same value.
I need more money :p
