Mkhi again, I can't tell if he's short of confidence or just not very good.
He’s just really erratic

It wasn't offside and not that I noticed any foul but VAR wouldn't be used for that anyway. How did VAR not chalk that goal off? Foul in the centre circle, then offside
Looking at it again, the offside was a closer call than I first thought. Istill think he was marginally off, but benefit of doubt to the attacker I supposeIt wasn't offside and not that I noticed any foul but VAR wouldn't be used for that anyway.
It wasn't offside and as offside is a matter of fact, not a subjective decision, there is no benefit of the doubt with VAR. It simply wasn't offside.Looking at it again, the offside was a closer call than I first thought. Istill think he was marginally off, but benefit of doubt to the attacker I suppose
Officials using VAR won't be using that single freeze frame and their technology will factor in the camera perspective - they will be able to see for certain whether he was in an offsie or onside position. They don't need to give any benefit of the doubt, whether that be to the attacker or the on field officials. However, in this case you have to make a call on whether Son's head was closer to the Arsenal goal than the defender's feet at the moment the ball is kicked. The freeze frame I saw suggested it was, but you have to take into account the camera perspective and the freeze frame chosen by the broadcaster, which brings in a subjective element to a factual situation - hence my statement about the benefit of the doubt going to the attacker
