Carabao Cup - Quarter Final ** Spoilers ** [18th - 19th December 2018]

Meh glad we are out of this Mickey Mouse competition the better.

I’d rather us concentrate on the league and the europa league in all honesty.

Our defence is utter turd, kos is so past it that it’s not even funny. Playing Xhaka in defence is even more worse as proven by his display against Soton last weekend.
Supporters with this logic completely baffles me, it's a chance to win something, how are they joke cups or pointless?

Trophies bring confidence, and to be Frank your more likely to win a cup than league.

Plus surely players want to look back and see trophies, I don't they go well there **** cups anyway

I'd love us to win a few cups personally, Im getting thed with how we(Liverpool) seem to always do cack in em

Those two additional games were definitely going to derail your season...lol come on now.

Three, potentially as the semis are over 2 legs in January and sandwiched between some tough fixtures IIRC.

Obviously wouldn't have complained if they'd beaten Spurs, but having to play Chelsea over two legs, then City (barring a miracle result) - which like last night almost forces a strong line-up - with the lack of defensive options, squad depth, and the busy Christmas/NY schedule means it's not going to cause many sleepless nights. Having Spurs and Chelsea have to play each other twice as well as keep up with their league fixtures might be helpful too, assuming Emery can get them winning games again (although I'm already assuming 0 points at Anfield).

It would have mattered if you won.

Xhaka's little hard man impersonation is hilarious to watch.

Not as much as the league game that we won.

Pointless when you can't even beat Southampton the week after.

Very refreshing that Emery isn't scared to make changes at half time, but must be slightly concerning when he has to make these changes because they can't put games to bed. It seems he needs the first half to work out the opposition, and by then the game could be a far gone conclusion. Maybe you can get away with that against teams like Huddersfield, not Chelsea or City who will just punish you.

Not happy with losing at all, especially to spurs. Think we should try and win everything we can as the league is well out of our hands and top 4 is going to be tricky.

Lol I see my comments have bothered a couple of people in here. Quite funny how certain people in here don’t understand the concept of an opinion, not saying I’m right or wrong.

I’ve always felt this way about this cup, to me it’s as worthless as they come.

I’m not even a tad bit upset that we lost albeit to Spurs.

No one has said your not entitled to an opinion but I'd like to try understand your view of why you deem a cup, a chance to win something is worthless?

Arsenal have no realistic prospect of winning the league, so they should try to win the trophies they can - if that's the stick they want to keep beating Tottenham fans with.

Dropping out the FA Cup in the third round last year didn't seem to do the team any favours.

Its a public forum fella ...everyone can have an opinion and people can disagree with it.

Personally if it was us Vs the Ev the other night Id be fuming at the loss.

Haven't they ditched FA Cup replays and it's only a matter of time before the 2 leg League Cup semis are scrapped too.
Baz, FA cup replays have been scrapped from round 5 onwards. Still will have them in rounds 3 & 4. I think it’s right to have them in the early rounds. Gives the chance for the minnows to get a draw and play in a big stadium and cash in. Magic of the cup and all that.

According to Rob not fully, also as long as the semis aren’t at Wembley it’s an improvement. (Neutral ground for single game obviously, just stop forcing teams to Wembley)

Like our league cup semi at night vs City was more fun than the game vs Everton at Wembley tbh. (Excluding the fact we were knocking out Everton ofc)
