Carabao Cup - Round of 16 ** Spoilers ** [31st Oct - 1st Nov 2023]

His signings full stop have been poor.
You could say this about every United manager since Ferguson though. Everyone who goes there, barring in fairness Bruno, becomes awful. Mount was wanted by Liverpool, Casemiro had just won the CL, Onana was one of the best keepers around, loads of clubs were after Sancho. There's something really wrong at the club, it can't be that every single signing is garbage.

That's true, but there's no point changing anything yet unless the players have quite literally downed tools - not quite clear yet although it's not looking great.

The Glazers need to get this Ratcliffe deal sorted, as he will want control of football matters, can't really change manager until then unless there's a caretaker for the short term.

The manager is playing a large part in how United currently are so he is absolutely a problem, not THE problem as there are loads of issues but id say he's right up there.
I think you can say that when he's had 10 games with Shaw, Martinez, Varane and AWB as his back four but not at the moment. Liverpool tanked midseason last year but no-one was seriously saying "Klopp out". He has to be given more time but ultimately also has to show progress. He has the rest of this season to do that and going out of this cup and the CL will ironically help. Ange is playing one game a week and has all that time to train the team.

It that bad I go into every game thinking we are going to lose right now it what it become sadly.

If Ten Hag loses to Luton next weekend Ill bring the taxi myself.

Mount would have had a role at Liverpool for a specific reason, not signed and played in the wrong position. Casemiro had just won the CL but was never a long term signing as many had pointed out. Onana was always error prone and loads of clubs after Sancho? Were they? Even I of all people said that Sanchos numbers come against the bottom 5 in the Bundesliga, why cant United do the basics?

Klopp has won everything there is to win at Liverpool and no one predicted the legs would fall off the whole of the midfield in one season. Ange is playing one game a week...he also hasnt spent well over 400mil. As for that back 4, thats like me saying last season

"I think you can say that when he's had 10 games with a midfield of Keita, Thiago and Oxlade Chamberlain"

Never ever going to happen.

Livermento two starts and two man of the match performances. It’s as well as Trips is playing some of his best football of his career.

I don't see any new manager changing anything. It's obvious since Fergie left that something is rotten behind the scenes.

Maybe there'd be a short bump just from a change of mindset, illusion of a fresh start, but the rot would set in soon enough.

I think he just needs to play his best XI every game and stop chopping and changing every match. Literally a new midfield every single game.

Strange game that. Darwins goal was great but how good was quansah in seriously difficult conditions - looks a very tidy cb

Now you are being ridiculous. We finished 3rd reached 2 finals and won a trophy last season with that back four despite still being weak in other places. The players are shot and it starts from the back. The two major injury periods that VVD had were massively impactful on Liverpool and thats one player. We've lost arguably all our back four and had to resort to playing a SPurs reject, Magaluf and Dalot.

Klopp should have seen that midfield situation coming as most of the fan base saw it the previous season yet he was signing more attackers. Anyway I'm not comparing Klopp to ten Hag. That would be facile - all I'm saying is that sacking him is not the answer until you at least assess him over the rest of the season.

Mount is awful, lets not kid ourselfs. Casemiro is the wrong side of 30. Theres a reason Real Madrid let him go.

Onana is going to dine on that CL final performance for ever more. The current Inter keeper has let in 5 goals this season. Their defence and team is the best in the league and it shows. Their team is part of the reason Onana looked so good. He was a freebee the season before because no one wanted him.
