Typical League Cup performance, with the lack of fluidity showing in our performance. Good for a few senior players to get some minutes under their belt and even better for a few youngsters to show us what they're about. We see a lot of promising youngsters that we think should be stepping up to the first team but all too often massively underestimate how big that step up is - in Hoever and Elliott I really think we've got two youngsters that have what it takes. When you see how comfortable Hoever looks at senior level you can understand why the club weren't so desperate to sign any old full back in the summer. Elliott's probably not as close to featuring in the 1st team but he looks a special talent. Despite his small frame and the fact he's just 16, he didn't look out of place tonight nor did he struggle physically which was a bit of a pleasant surprise.
What’s happened to Keita? He looked promising at RB but hasn’t seemed to settle at Liverpool. Injuries?
Yep. He started last season really well but picked up a few niggling injuries during the season then came back into the side and started to find his feet again only to get injured vs Bayern and miss the rest of the season, rushed back for AFCON, got injured and only just started full training in the last week or two. Touch wood he can stay feet for a while now because he adds something to our midfield that we lack.

I would say the opposition keeper has had to make more saves so should have his eye in better but most of our shots were so bad they didn't go near him.
