Carabao Cup - Third Round ** Spoilers ** [24/25 September 2019]

Yep. He started last season really well but picked up a few niggling injuries during the season then came back into the side and started to find his feet again only to get injured vs Bayern and miss the rest of the season, rushed back for AFCON, got injured and only just started full training in the last week or two. Touch wood he can stay feet for a while now because he adds something to our midfield that we lack.

Can’t see his feet going anywhere :p

I thought so, anytime I’ve seen him play in a Liverpool shirt he looks like he’s coming back from injury and trying to find fitness. A real shame, hopefully he can go on a decent run.

Not sure what to think of the draw. Playing Arsenal makes it a bit more interesting but at the same time it would have been nicer to get a lower league side to allow more youngsters to play, where as now I suspect we'll probably play a bit of a stronger side.

Was just about to ask if Klopp was likely to play a stronger side given there's a 'big' team coming to your ground. Hopefully both sides still go at least half strength and we get a decent battle of youth prospects.

It's difficult for us to give too many kids a game at the moment. With Klopp not rotating too much in the early weeks of the season, we have a fair few senior players that need a game. Had they been fit then both Origi and Shaqiri would have probably played today. You'd imagine that both of them would have played regardless of the fact we've drawn Arsenal but it's pretty much nailed on now which probably means Elliott and Jones on the bench.

Would be nice if there could be a gentleman’s agreement between the two sides to field certain strength line ups with whoever you like on the bench.

Would never happen, but it could have made for a great battle of the youth.
