Cargiant help!

Go back to cargiant. As your retailer they have a legal obligation to make it right.

Stick at thread at the below for some sound advice of how to deal with a dealer and write the correct letters :

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/forumdisplay.php?57-Vehicle-retailers-and-manufacturers

That site helped me have a wheel bearing replaced after 7 weeks of ownership even though the dealer denied he had any responsibility and the AA warranty classed it as wear and tear item. Total cost to me was £0 and never had a problem since.

Edit. Just read your post above. Make sure you know your SOGA rights cover you for 6 months incase you have any other faults. They are required by law to assist you and cannot remove your statutory rights as a consumer.

Hopefully all goes well on Wednesday!

Im glad your story has a happy ending :)

But I gotta say the are only two reasons Audi wouldn't have noticed the problem when they did the re-gas, either they did it and it was working fine but between them finishing work and you taking the car back it died, or they just didn't do the job properly.

What a relief. I hope they honour this and use genuine parts, or get it done at the Audi place.

Cover all cars for a month sounds like a lot of tosh though, as I understand (and many others too), that the cover period under law is much longer than this. I think as Shadowman said.

My brother recently bought a car from Cargiant.
I had a long and interesting discussion with one of the saleswomen there.
She explained all their cars come with no warranty and she tried to sell him one.
I explained to her that she couldn't legally sell me a car with absolutely no come-back if something was to go wrong.
She seemed to think she could.
So I explained it all to her again.

It doesn't really matter in my brothers' case as he bought a 58 plate Civic and so it still had 6 months of Honda warranty left which is where he'll go if he has any issues.

But don't let them convince you that the car is "your problem" the minute you drive it away, they cannot dispense with their legal obligations.

Cargiant aren't that bad as a whole.
They do have a massive selection of vehicles and the prices are usually quite good.
My brother's 58 Plate Civic with 35k miles on was £7250 which really wasn't too bad.
