CHELSEA coach Ray Wilkins last night accused Arsenal of disrespecting the Carling Cup.

Wilkins believes the Gunners are wrong to play a team of kids instead of their star names.

And he insists Chelsea will not devalue the competition by doing the same.

He also taunted Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger by claiming the kids experiment has left his club trophyless.

Chelsea will field a senior side against Burnley tonight and Wilkins said: “It’s all about winning trophies when you’re a big club.

"The fact we’ve won the Carling Cup twice in the last four years and Arsenal have won none justifies our policy,

“You enter a competition to win the competition. Why go into it if you’re not concerned whether you win it?

“Playing a young or weakened team undermines the value of the competition.

“And we have not and will not do that. We want to win it, big time.”

Chelsea will recall Didier Drogba and Wilkins promised the only youngsters who will feature will be on the bench.

Now who feels like a silly little balding ****.

It took a super slow-mo from an angle in the crowd to even see that. Unless Mike Riley has one of those built into his dome, I would strongly doubt it.

I was convinced it was a penalty. On seeing that it isn't, Riley got it right in hindsight but I strongly doubt he saw what was the tiniest of touches.

The thing is I always had this idea that if you got the ball first in a tackle, then it wasn't a foul.

HOWEVER, it does need a bit of thinking about. Should the fact that a player makes contact with the ball completely eliminate the prospect that a foul may have been committed (unless it was 'dangerous play'? A player could be running through on goal, you slide in from behind and gently toe the ball ahead, still in the path of the forward. Then a fraction of a second later, you bring him crashing to the deck as your legs hook round his. Had you not of taken the player as well, he'd of been clean through on goal with you lying flat on your arse.

That would be a hard situation for a rule to be amended for though.

What would you suggest?

we lose are gracefull in defeat so all fans then jump on a chelsea beating bandwagon? Good 1.

I think people take great joy in laughing at a team who have such a huge budget yet still get beaten by smaller teams. Well, that is MY reason and i can't wait to laugh at a guy at work who constantly goes on and on about Chelsea being the best etc.

not all fans mainly the gooners

Not really, I'm not bothered at all by Chelsea losing. It's a mickey mouse cup, I just detest Ray Wilkins and his silly shirt collars, and for him to come out and say something stupid which jumped up and bit him on the arse just made me happy.

Fair enough. TBh i am half happy Burnley won. it means more to them than it did to us. Wilkins was a pillock when he said that though.
