Carpet

Just about to click buy on some underlay, just want to sense check my thinking.

I'm weighing up Tredaire Citra and Dreamwalk. I have a sample of dreamwalk which I am happy with but I'm leaning towards getting Citra because its more dense (110 vs 143), wear better over time and recover better from furniture being on it.

I'm thinking the higher density will have slightly less bounce but still has the 'luxury' feel. It's going on stairs, bedroom and lounge but due to the layout of the house the 'foot traffic' tends go down the same narrow channels and will wear those sections far quicker than the rest of the house.

Thicker /better underlay won’t necessarily protect the carpet better from furniture being on I would have thought??

Possibly would. Rather than press the carpet against a hard surface, a good quality underlay will offer "bounce back" I would have thought? Could be wrong.

But the carpet will still take the brunt of the depression as it’s the 1st point of impact. I’ve had good carpets and underlays and over time the furniture still leaves significant indents.

I bought 5 rolls of Tredaire Sensation from tradepriced.co.uk, with delivery was about £310 for 75 sqm. (yes, yes, I know only 3 in the pic :))

Ready for the whole house carpet replacements I am doing tail end of next week.
