Carragher

If someone wants to pay me £50,000 per week to have the michael gently taken out of me then where do I sign up?

These footballers really do need to get over themselves. Really they do.

Even so, if you were signing autographs for kids you might be a little peeved if i threw beer over you...

For that money, I'd let you throw beer over me naked.

Mr Carragher can't complain, if he can't stand the banter, he can always stop playing football. Simple as.

So throwing beer is now considered banter? I'm not saying what Jamie did is right, but you can't condone the fans if what’s been said is true.

No it wasn't. He commented on a player who was suspended for assaulting a fan.

Yeah, and that is his place to do so.

We're talking about someone here who incited the crowd.

No we're talking about someone who was giving out autographs.

What Cantona did was worse, I wasn't the one comparing them.

Nor was I :/

Either way, Carragher should be punished for inciting the crowd, which it clearly was.

No, he should be punished for reacting as he did. Not for inciting the 'crowd', as thats obviously not what he has done.

Not sure whether you're joking or trolling, but you're not covering yourself in glory.

No mate, I'd only copied it into notepad and when I got to work my PC had been switched off whereas I just lock it. Gone for good :(

I dont think I would want to throw beer over you :) , or indeed anyone. Not sure why I would want to do that

I'm a bit perplexed as to why there HAS to be banter. Then again I have never quite understood why anyone finds any need ever to abuse someone, lighthearted or not.

I personally dont like Cristiano Ronaldo, I think he is arrogant and takes the mick a lot, however I cannot deny that he is a phenomally skilled footballer and when I watch Utd v Liverpool I cant say that I have ever found the need to throw abuse at Ronaldo just because of the patterns on his shirt, why on earth would I do that??

I dont like John Terry particularly either, but I dont shout cockney rhyming slang and dress up in pearly king gear and take the mick out of him because he comes from east london whenever I see him play.

I mean, there are people at work I dont like too, but I dont go wandering past them in the corridor being abusive at them.

Maybe I am too old, or too stuffy, or too boring or enjoy football for the football rather than the tribalistic side of things or something, its just I havent ever seen the need to be abusive to people.
