Carrying netbook in rucksack would ssd stop it crashing?

I am using my netbook with a bluetooth dongle and software to advertise a small business I have just set up. I intended to put my netbook in a large well ventilated backpack and carry it around town so that it sends out bluetooth adverts. Unfortunately it keeps crashing which I assume is because of the netbook moving around when I am walking.

If I was to install a Solid State Drive would this stop the problem due to there being no moving parts that can be affected by motion?

I assume that 2.5' ssd drives will fit in laptops / netbooks? Is this the case?

If the machine is on and working while you are out-and-about then I imagine that the free fall sensor in the HDD is being activated regularly. This sounds like it could be the cause of your problem as the HDD is effectively being disconnected constantly.

Also, it may be worth running a temperature monitoring program when it is the bag to ensure that high temps are definitely not causing the problem.

If the temps are OK, then getting a cheap SSD sounds like a good plan. What is the make and model of your specific machine? - so we can check what SSD will fit.

It is a Toshiba NB 305 - 105. I don't think temps are causing the problem and I think it is down to the motion.

SSD would definately stop it (thats if its caused by movement)
