Case Fan Control

I’ve always used BIOS to set fan curves, set it once and forget about it. Same with ARGB since windows 11 has dynamic lighting.

I despise bloatware.

Yeah done it in BIOS, modern BIOS fan control is much better than my last board, this one offers fan profiles. Also the windows application adjusts the bios directly so doesn't matter if I use windows or bios.

The fundamentals haven't changed - You're likely only missing out on some combined/aggregate high-end stuff and some additional RGB patterns.
IIRC, the price is only about a tenner per year, which isn't much for software as seriously good as this, and from a very small company it's well worth the price.
Probably, I just pay for it since I have 2 Aquaeros, 2 D5 Next pumps, and 17 fans controlled by it.
Although I should probably make more use of it than I do; generally I just try and get something that's imperceivably quiet while keeping good temps and then just forget about it.

I will try and update it when I re-do my build next month.

Unless you're an overclocking/cooling enthusiast, that's pretty much the idea - You can do a lot with it, and arguably more than with any other software... but for general users the idea is to set it up, tweak it to your exact liking if you want, and then not ever need to open it again unless your parameters/requirements change or you add new kit.
The only time I've needed to make changes was when HWInfo (any value from which Aquasuite can use as a data source) changed some of its monitoring functions.

how are you meant to use fancontrol with antivirus software? everything ive seen and tried (including the dev himself) says its not possible as it gets blocked by windows

I think that was a one off? There was an update a while ago that didn't go through the MS software verification procedure correctly, or something like that, so got blocked by Windows but since then been fine.
Works fine with Windows 11 for me and I only set it up again this week on a different PC since seeing this thread.
