Hello guys,

I want to buy a new case as the one I have been using for my computer is a generic one that generates quite a lot of noise. The most important thing is that my EVGA 7950GX2 fits and that my Tagan 480W fits too.

I cant spend a lot of money. Nothing above £85 quid including shipping.

I have narrowed it to:

Antec Nine Hundred Ultimate Gaming case - £81 delivered
Coolermaster Mystique 631 Black - £83 delivered
Thermaltake VA3000BNA Tsunami Dream SuperMidi Aluminium Tower - Black - £81 delivered

What do you think guys?

I have seen the Lian Li but looks ugly to be honest. I only want it to be as silent as possible. The one I have got now has got a few 60mm fans that do my head in! :(

Is there anything wrong with the 3 cases Ezyryder mentioned in his original post? I'm looking for a new case too and was also looking at the Antec Nine Hundred Ultimate Gaming case.

There is nothing fundamentally wrong with any of them. It's just the 'Ultimate Gaming case' has to be bodged about to fit an 8800 series graphics card in it, so they obviously have a different idea of the ultimate gaming PC from the rest of us. The Coolermaster Mystique is pretty much the same old Coolermaster Wavemaster case with a new front on it. And the Thermaltake is a copy of the Coolermaster Wavemaster with the old style front on it. That's probably being a bit hard on the Mystique as it has 120mm fans as opposed to the 80mm on the Wavemaster, but none of them are really top case in their price bracket.

£85 is a terrible price point! What about a Lian Li PC-G50B? The two Antec cases 212 mentioned at least have some merit in that they are designed to be quiet. Personally, I'd go for the Akasa Zen and pocket the £50 change for something else.

Mystique is a really nice case though, Im a sucker for the black one :P!

Ok!

What case for £85 pounds or cheaper then would fit a 7950GX2 and a Tagan 480W and be the quietest around for that price?

I understand that the Antec 900 is not that great and that the other ones are basically overpriced.

edit
does Silverstone have any decent cases in the same price bracket? like SilverStone TJ04B
and what about Akasa Eclipse-62 Midi Tower Case?

the lian li pictures do not do them justice.
i hated how they looking in pics, couldn't understand the hype, then i saw raikiris PC 7, and thought"...hmmm, looks a helluva a lot better than the pics", I even considered getting one. Then i saw his new pcg 50 and thought "damn thats sweet..."

Never has a truer word been spoken by mankind...

Yup, what could be better than smooth clean lines. Black brushed aluminium is the way forwards, it's a sublte case, but it also stands out as classy

You either have to have a very good digicam to show the quality and brilliance of the cases, or see one in person as the pictures really don't do them justice...I know the pictures of mine make it look kind of bad, but it really is lovely.

The Eclipse is the one to go for if you can afford it. But be warned - it's much more than £85 delivered. It has no fans so you need to budget £20 for that. According to Overclockers pricing system an Eclipse and 2 120mm Akasa Ambers is £126.76 delivered, but if you have a quick look around you'll find that package for about £100 Incl.

Given that you should qualify for Member's market, why not post a wanted thread on there? Something like 'Wanted - HIgh Quality case - £85 delivered, must be perfect and boxed"

I think you might be surprised what you get offered.
