Caselabs SMA8 - Monochrome

You many want to put an adult content warning in the title, as this build is going to be dam sexy!

haha I got slightly confused with you having two projects meant to comment here and not on your Brightness one.

I tried to translate the pages but couldn't, I enjoyed drooling over the pictures though. ;)

Maybe its a good thing I can't read German or I might just have bought a Mercury S8

hehe, the S8 is also a very nice Case. :D Maybe I will post the other worklogs in english later. ;)

Update

Moddingstylez
supports this project with some amazing custom cables.
Thank you for that.

Beautiful build, looks awesome, especially like the fact you'll be able to see the GPU blocks better in that orientation. Particularly impressed by your tube bending on the Mboard and CPU blocks, mines no way near that neat!

I got a SMA8 in gunmetal grey about a month ago... Caselabs have been struggling to meet demand so it took nearly 12 weeks from when I ordered it...

I've gone for the standard layout (so window on left side) and I'm running a 480 rad in the top and a 560 in the lower compartment. It's a thing of beauty, mines still in progress, water loop pretty much complete, just got to sort cabling etc. Hopefully my mod my toys fan splitter PCBs will arrive today, then I'm just waiting on my replacement D5 pump as my current ones now wailing like a banshee (its two and a half years old, so probably about time to replace)...

I hope you enjoy your SMA8 as much as I am mine!

Yes,
I think I got some really nice stuff for this project. :)

@Evil-I: The inverted stile of the case is great, especially because the case stands on the left side of my desk. :)
Yes, I enjoy that case, but I have still so much to do.^^ I also waited a long time for the case.

Btw.: Some new stuff arrived yesterday:

I think I may need to sell a kidney :-)

I'm stuck with my 3930k and a pair of GTX970s for the foreseeable future...

The case cost more than I'd ever planned to spend and once I'd factored in the extra bits like fan/ rad mounts, the courier charge from the US and the import duty for getting it into the UK the final price was pretty eye watering...

I will post a pic of mine at some point, I never have time to be able to document the build process, and to be honest the end result on my builds can sometimes be a little hit and miss :-) as I tend to do things in fits and starts when I have time (I work away a lot) and don't always get it quite right.

Really looking forward to see what you can do here!

Are those noiseblocker fans by the way?

I went with those too, but seems to be a fairly rare choice.

Yes, this are noiseblocker fans, I gained just positive experience.

I will continue this mod in the next few weeks. :)

Here is a small teaser:

We will see if this will work. :)

Love seeing a caselabs build, had a sth10 4 years ago, cost me over £500 to get the case here to the uk.

Here it is next to a mountain mods ufo case...

It was so big :)

The last days I've prepared the radiators.

Looking good - where did you get the fan bolts from? I purchased some similar ones from a chinese seller on a famous auction site. They are fine for attaching the fans direct to radiator but a little too short for attaching a rad and fans to the case.

I've bought them also from a famous auction site.
I wasn't sure what I need so I've bought 30mm and 35mm screws. 30mm were to short and 35mm to long... So I've shortend them to 32 to 33mm, fits perfect. :)

small update:

I've cleaned the pumps.
Changed the fittings from Bitspower to Barrow.

New fittings, later I exchanged the green o-rings for black ones.

Besides that, I used some new screws. :)
