Hello again,

I'm actually working on a second project.
I will mod a Caselabs SMA8, it is a dream case for me since I've seen it. :)

There is not that much to say about the case, except that it is one of the biggest and priciest cases on the market.
The qualitiy of it is a dream.

concept:

[...]

hardware:

CPU: Intel 5930K

Mobo
: Asus X99 WS-E

memory: 32GB Klevv Crass 2133Mhz

VGA: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti Superclocked+ ACX 2.0+

Powersupply: EVGA SuperNOVA P2 1200 1200W ATX 2.3

Storage: 2x Samsung Evo 850 500GB

Watercooling:

CPU Block: EK-Supremacy EVO

VGA Block: EK-FC XXX

pumps: 4x Alphacool VPP 655 PWM

reservoir: custom

tubing: hard tubing

fans: Noiseblocker Black Silent PL1, PL2 & PK2

fan control: Aquaero 5lt

The case:

I've chosen Gunmetal Grey, I think its the best looking Caselabs color.

You can easy remove the tray, I like this option a lot.

SMA8_Case_011.jpg

Enough space for two power supplies

SMA8_Case_012.jpg

a lot of room for hardware. :)

SMA8_Case_005.jpg

I will use a 560er and 280er radiator in the bottom section.

SMA8_Case_006.jpg

In the Front would be enough room for another radiator but i will just mount fans there.

Backside:

I love that case!

Big thanks to:

I'm very happy for supporting this project. GamingRigs is an official Caselabs Reseller in europe.

They support this project with some nice Black Silent fans.

.
He builds awesome custom parts. This project is get an awesome slight.

A big thanks also goes out to ModdingStylez, he provides some nice sleeved cables. Check out his Facebook Page, there you can win 1 out of 3 custom cases.

They support this project with some nice parts for sleeving, thank you.

Thank you for a nice discount

Thank for supporting this project with some nice waterblocks and liquid.

Thank for supporting this project with this awesome memory.

I don't think its more expensive than in the U.S.
I tried a Mercury S8S as an example:
directly order by Caselabs:
Case: 374$
Shipping (to germany):150$
taxes (19%): 99$
Total: 623$ -> 567€

GamingRigs: 550€ all inclusive

Besides that, it is so much easier to order by GR because you dont have to run to the tax office. All that will GR do for you. ;)

Slightly cheaper then. I have had a Caselabs SM8, and if I had the money, I would get this one!

cheaper an easier. ;) I also had a lot of cases but you cant compare a standard case with a caselabs. This is so much greater.

That's a nice looking case and I have to agree with you about the colour. One day maybe... I just like my Phanteks cases too much.

Phanteks also offers nice cases. ;) Which one do you have?

I would love to have a CaseLabs case.

I'd probably want something airbrushed on it tho.

I'm not really a fan of airbrushing. Well... sometimes it looks good, sometimes not. ^^

One of the highlights for this build arrived yesterday.

What could it be?

SMA8_WiP_009.jpg

Its an sLight made by Martmamod/Stempel-Hauser.

Great company with nice service and high quality products.

SMA8_WiP_010.jpg

On all pictures is an protectie sheet on the slight but it looks great anyway.

SMA8_WiP_011.jpg

fits very well. :) (not the final graphics cards.)

SMA8_WiP_012.jpg

this equal distribution of light

SMA8_WiP_013.jpg

SMA8_WiP_014.jpg

Airbrush has to be done really well else it looks rubbish.

That lightbox is awesome, the lack of lightbox production for the CaseLabs cases was one of the things putting me off... (Since I just got one for my 900D)

This on the other hand has got me really interested in them again!

You can order the lightbox at stempel-hauser, they will ship world-wide I think. :)

I like this a lot, those gpu blocks look cool

hehe, yes the Bitspower blocks for the HOF cards are looking very nice. But in this case they are just borrowed from project "Brightness". ;)

Can you give more details on GPU backplate please, thanks

If you want to see more pictures of the blocks, check out my other worklog: Brightness

But faheemrazzaq was right, its the Bitspower HOF block.

In this project I will use EK blocks only.
I ordered some stuff at EVGA today. Cant wait to get this amazing hardware.

You many want to put an adult content warning in the title, as this build is going to be dam sexy!

haha I got slightly confused with you having two projects meant to comment here and not on your Brightness one.

I tried to translate the pages but couldn't, I enjoyed drooling over the pictures though. ;)

Maybe its a good thing I can't read German or I might just have bought a Mercury S8

hehe, the S8 is also a very nice Case. :D Maybe I will post the other worklogs in english later. ;)

Update

Moddingstylez
supports this project with some amazing custom cables.
Thank you for that.

Yes,
I think I got some really nice stuff for this project. :)

@Evil-I: The inverted stile of the case is great, especially because the case stands on the left side of my desk. :)
Yes, I enjoy that case, but I have still so much to do.^^ I also waited a long time for the case.

Btw.: Some new stuff arrived yesterday:

Are those noiseblocker fans by the way?

I went with those too, but seems to be a fairly rare choice.

E-I

Yes, this are noiseblocker fans, I gained just positive experience.

I will continue this mod in the next few weeks. :)

Here is a small teaser:

We will see if this will work. :)

The last days I've prepared the radiators.

I've bought them also from a famous auction site.
I wasn't sure what I need so I've bought 30mm and 35mm screws. 30mm were to short and 35mm to long... So I've shortend them to 32 to 33mm, fits perfect. :)

small update:

I've cleaned the pumps.
Changed the fittings from Bitspower to Barrow.

original state:

SMA_WiP038.jpg

New fittings, later I exchanged the green o-rings for black ones.

SMA_WiP037.jpg

Besides that, I used some new screws. :)
the result:

Loving the light box and the new screws!

Thanky you, yes, I think the light box is an great pice of art, Im very thankful to stempelhauser for producing it.

Nice shots and updates :)

Thank you. :)

Update:

Some new shots of the hardware.

Mounted it to the tray of the Caselabs SMA8. :)

SMA8_WiPl043.jpg

Mounted the waterblocks of the 980Tis and CPU:

First try of the tubing, what do you think?
I tried to avoid the bend the other way round...

Thank you so much for your feedback.
I continued in designing the "waterplate". Its nearly finished, it can be milled very soon.
I hope it will fit. :D

hi,
i use inventor.
actually i still can use this for free as a student. :)
The distance between water routing and lining groove is 1,5mm, the lining groove itself is also 1,5mm wide.
The distance between waterrouting and threads are 6,6mm.
If everything will work during the milling process, i can send you my sketches. ;)

Hey :)
Its always nice to get your feedback. :)
I'm glad to hear that you like this project.

Small Update:

I'm very proud to announce a new Sponsor of this project.

Big thanks for supporting this project with 32GB Cras memory.

It starts with a nice packaging which has a very good feel of the surface.
