CAT 7.2's OUT

Thanks for pics, looks like its a really good test of aa and af now compared to how you had to guess if it looked diff with the race car scene.

Might upgrade to these at some point.

Looks like they took out all the fanciness on the CCC which must be what took so long to load maybe  .

The only visual thing they changed was is the 3D preview, the rest of the graphics and the theme are the same as they were before. That's if you're commenting on the theme that is ;)

Wonder if this will fix any of the problems I'm having with FarCry on vista 64

EDIT: Working SWEET! The Vista64 drivers are LUSH compared to the 7.1s

I'm having problems installing these on my XP 64 setup. It comes up with an error "unable to find driver in .inf file" or something like that, and doesn't actually update the drivers - they were still on v7.1 when I checked afterwards, and crossfire wouldn't work.....

...so a complete uninstall of the drivers, and tried again - same problem. :(

Back using 7.1 at the moment.

Anybody else have this problem?

It actually comes up with a "thunk.exe - INF error, Video driver not found." alert.

Well, checked the xp64 archive that I downloaded, and it would appear that the driver's .ini file for xp64 is missing. (C2_41238.ini is there, as is CX_41238.ini - but no CA_41238.ini)?

So they have either forgotten to include the ini file, or they have got their files mixed up. It downloads as 7-2_xp64_dd_ccc_41238.exe, so should be the correct drivers (I checked this in case I had gone and downloaded the wrong drivers ).

So has anyone gain any proformance gain on these new drivers within Vista?

Downloaded them, will try tonight when home from work. :)

So just to be clear;

ATi have the Vista drivers, but their DX10 hardware is severely delayed.

NVidia have the DX10 Hardware, but their Vista drivers are severely delayed.

Brilliant

Cant seem to get CCC to work

It downloaded and installed fine, But when i try to start it nothing happens.

2 Programs pop up in the task manager then dissapear

Any ideas ?

Got mine working ok.
At least these don't crash out on me all the time when using the CCC like in the 7.1's.
Shame it's coming out today as my new 8800gts will be here shortly.

Seems you have a very similar problem to me. Are you on XP. I also found that if i ran 3DMark05 that i was about 800 points down on the 7.1's which kind of points at a problem with the install. If i go back to 7.1 everything works fine and i can launch CCC fine. It must be related in some way to the changes they have made to the CCC in the 7.2's.

Yup im on XP. I had a small drop in my 05 score too

Ive just gone back to using 7.1 cats :)

Looking at your machine spec, the only thing that is really similar between our machines is that we are both running X2's. I wonder if that is what is causing the problem. My card is an X1800XT.

I've got the same problem, sometimes CCC works, other times it doesn't. I'm using Vista.
