Cat abuse - Kenny Glenn

I get that he posted a youtube video and is deliberately making people angry but, as usual, the hatred shown by the internet is disproportionate.

No it isn't.

You can't compare the reactions of something unnaceptable in our country with the reactions of something acceptable by the standards of another country. Both may be shocking, but when people can easily make a difference they will.

It takes more effort to be bothered about problems further away from home. Does that make people stupid or lazy? I answer that with a resounding 'no'.

EDIT - Ah, I understand what you meant now. People calling for him to be hanged are talking, not walking.

The kid is doomed, whether that be a fair punishment or not is a matter of opinion but Anonymous have sunk their teeth in like a honey badger on a bad day. He will regret doing it, that's for certain.

Much as I would love to pay a visit to see what kind of ****storm was going down, I don't really feel like trawling through the inevitable pics of zippocat, squishycat and cp that such a visit almost inevitably entails.

Also Anonymous lose interest in things like this in a matter of days usually. Don't get me wrong, I hope the kid gets the crap beaten out of him though.

I love how the point he was trying to make has gone over everyone's head hahaha, it's a pretty clever video.

Enlighten me?

i would say he's scaring it more than hurting because if you really did slam a cat against the wall you'd break its ribs. He also is raking it rather than punching it so not a lot of force is being used.

He is still scaring the living heck out of the cat and I fail to see why.

They won't lose interest over this any time soon just you see - Boxxy still shows here god damn eye here and there :o

Having watched the video very closely and especially the cats reaction and behaviour I would have to say this has been staged. Looking closely at the supposed beating there is virtually no impact on the cat and its reaction does not demonstrate this, for a real reaction from the cat watch how it would normally react for example when faced with getting wet as he goes to put in under the shower. I do not condone the making of such videos or violence against animals, but this video has been staged and shot to provoke a reaction and gain notoriety. To this end it has been successful, all the keyboard warriors cry omgwtfbbqlol.

This is worse than those charming Ukrainian children who hit the headlines a couple of months back:

Not quite

A long video showing the three torturing a white kitten was shown in court. It takes place in their garage. The suspects fashion a cross out of two wooden boards and nail the kitten to it, then shoot at it with two ball bearing guns, placing duct tape across its mouth in order to muffle the kitten's screams.

Oh, you're one of them eh ;p

In related news that person who stomped on a kitten in a much older video was recently caught too.

Success!

Also, certain oriental countries do worse things to animals all the time yet one kid beats a cat around a bit and people go mental?

Yeah, this is true. In China, they skin cats and dogs alive apparently.

Slightly worse.

And I doubt cat lovers here condone that either, what... you want us to make a dozen threads a day for all the chinese cats that die just to prove that we also care about those?

This is madness!

You can tell from seeing quite a few staged tortures in your time, and from some of the pixels?

A cat isn't smart enough to know that its only being slammed against the wall and repeatedly struck as a hoax...

I read about it on iGoogle headlines the other day but never clicked through to the source - it was posted on Reddit IIRC - trying to find the article!

No, it shows this is a regular occurance. The cat knows what is coming, the cat knows it can't escape, the cat is used to it.

This isn't some street cat, it's their house cat.

It's akin to the child who no longer fliches, cries or shows reaction when beaten.
