Cat café to open in London

The cafe itself was nice (though expensive) but the cats were so unsettled by so many different people going in all the time and so many other cats that it wasn't a good atmosphere. it might just have been that cafe but the cats were really stressed and unhappy.

I semi regularly went to a dog cafe when i was overseas and it was awesome...I dont like cats but was dragged to a cat cafe too and they were super chilled out. Cats not giving a damn like always, just swanning around like they owned the place...damn cats - -

You'd have to hope so but it's partly why I'm a little concerned about the idea as well. I've got no real problems in principle but it will depend on the exact implementation and how they can ensure they meet the standards of care for the animals that will determine what I think of it.

There's likely to be such a variety of people coming in that it will be unsettling for the cats when what they'd need/want is a more regular home life. That won't apply to all but cats are often creatures of routine so that element would have to be quite carefully managed.

Fair point. You'll get a lot of stupid kids there messing around with the cats. Stupid English kids are different to stupid Japanese ones. Also I don't think just any cats should be there, they'll have to choose the cats with the right personality.

I can see it now: kid yanks cat's tail repeatedly, cat retaliates, kid screams, parent sues cafe. This place is going to have lawsuits coming out of its arse.

I also don't like the website at all. This woman's selling a whole load of crap before the place has even opened. People just want to go there, see a cat, have a drink and leave. Not bloody buy tonnes of stuff before it's even open.
