Cat problem

The thought of a security guard looking out for a kitten makes me LOL. I feel they have made a stupid decision.

Ye I know, I told them to give it away but sister's being just as stubborn as mom.

This is absurd. And it is cruel to the cat. A 4 month kitten should not spend one night in a industrial unit, let alone grow up in one. Put your foot down and insist the kitten is taken to the RSPCA or Cats Protection League. I can't believe some one seriously considers this to be an acceptable way to treat a kitten. It disgusts me frankly.

Hi, got a little problem here..

Basically we have a 4 month old kitten here and my mom wants it moved to my dads garage (not near our house). The problem is that there are foxes near the garage and were scared that the foxes will eat the kitten. The reason why my mom wants the cat moved is because it excretes in the garden, we are going to get some artificial grass and my mom wants the cat moved before we get it in.

Is there something I can put on the artificial grass to ensure the cat doesnt go near it?

does your mum not understand cat ownership?

"oh its an inconvenience, move it away" if you had a baby that was I dunno, sick on the carpet and your mum wanted a new carpet, would you move the baby to an industrial unit? cats aren't objects you know

how can you think about making it live in a garage? cats like, no, need attention, and love companionship why have one if you're gunna make it live in a garage

maybe this should have been thought through before you got the cat? can't of had it long if it's only 4 months old

Poor Kitten :(

You should not be allowed to ever own pets if this is how you treat them

It's not his cat, as I understand it, unless you were using the general you, in which case I agree.

throw your mum out.

Cats Owns Mums Anyday !

Cats are like women anyway,my cat is best mates with whoever feeds her!

The past week she has slept on the window to my left as she gets peace, she gets fed and let out when SHE wants without having to wait. She only gives me attention when she wants something....then goes to sleep once shes satisfied!

Well we just got a kitten on thursday, and we already have it litter trained.. and it doesnt smell at all, since we got good stuff and change it every 2 days (well, plan to!). Find a smallish room, and keep its bed, tray, and food bowls etc in there, and at night, keep it in that room with doors closed.. it will soon learn, then in the day, let it roam around the house, it will learn its way to the crapper soon enough.

When the kitten does a turd, or whatever... apparently you can rub its nose in it, then take it to the litter tray, and rub its paws in the litter tray...apparently it gets them used to the idea that thats where you do your business..

Worked for us.. after 3 days our kitten doesnt mess the house up much (still does.. but shes only 6 weeks old anyways!)

just my 2p, and tryna help!

I'll ask around for you. Every ******* cat in the neighbour hood either craps in my garden or on my drive. I'll find out how they trained them to do it

Who's to say another cat won't come along and dump in the middle of the lawn? Infact, if ironing has it's way, the entire neighbourhood's cat population will use the fake grass as a communal toilet.

For one thing, the cat is too young to go outside at 4 months. You're asking for it to go AWOL anyway at that age. 6 months (pref older) minimum unless it's being watched. A kitten of that age will become very alienated if it doesn't have people or other cats to interact with as and when it wants.

Must be an American thing to have Astroturf as I could not imagine why any one would want this stuff in their garden unless they are really lazy, from the spelling of mum/mom also an American thing.

I cannot believe that you really are even contemplating leaving a 4 month old kitten on its own all day in a garage a way from your home with no company or safety at risk of foxes. It is cruel, you should not have a cat if your doing that. Cats need a loving home when they can have a friend not solitary confinement. To be quite honest, screw your sister take the poor thing to a cat home where it will soon find a family who actually cares for it not one who is trying to find some where to store it because its too inconvinient for your sister to be a little upset about it leaving.

What will you do when you go on holiday? Open a big box of food on the floor and leave the tap running in the hope that its still alive when you get back? Come on this is ridiculous if you cant look after it then you cant have it.

I have half a mind to try and contact the authorities about this if it were possible because it seems like this animal isn't going to be looked after in the way that it should and the only reason your keeping it is because you don't want your sister to be upset. She is willing for it to live alone in a garage rather than be a little upset that her kitten is being rehoused.

Also your mum is an idiot if (sorry but she is) if you get a cat it will crap and it will smell especially if its a kitten, you should think about these things when you get an animal not after when it becomes inconvenient. The kitten will grow up and will stop smelling but if you really cannot stand it then you should not be filing the cat away some where for your sisters sake.

At the end of the day you should not have gotten into this state and I feel very strongly towards animals however now your here the right thing to do is to live with it and get a grip, give the animal a chance or take it to a home because kittens find homes far more easily than older cats. You have a duty of care towards that animal and if you neglect it then you as far as I am concerned are not fit to own that animal any more.

Give the cat to someone who can give it a better life rather than been stuck in a bloody garage.

So, you get a kitten and then just because it does what comes naturally to it you are going to 'house' it in a garage on an industrial estate with the distinct possibility of it getting killed by foxes?

Why the hell did you get a kitten in the first place? Quite frankly, People like you should be banned from owning pets!

I'd love the cat to find it's own way back, crap on the lawn then tootle of back to it's garage

No need to attack the OP though guys, it isn't actually his cat :)
