Excuse the lisp - I've got an ulcer on my tongue look :p

Anyway, to the point:

A cat has taken to pithing up our front door/door mat/general front doorage area. We've tried three products so far - cat repellent spray, granules and more recently pepper dust. All have to be proven to be cack and our house is starting to smell like an old persons home. :(

The smell is definately getting stronger now so we're reasonably convinced we've angered the cat!

Right now we don't feel much like apologising to him, so instead we've thought of a) killing him or b) getting something a bit more kick-ass in terms of repellent.

Suggest away.....

I have an issue with a cat pooing on my new gravel drive, tbh i thought about simply laying poison everywhere and then throwing it out if it dies on my land.

Immoral - definitely. Problem solved though :p

Also, what gets rid of the smell of cat pee?

I've read not to use bleach because of amonia. So, what do I use? Will Dettol be any good?

Frankly I'd happily kill it because this has been going on for 3 weeks now and joking apart I'm getting proper ffed off at it. The Mrs however would like it spared.

What I need is something really really unpleasant that the cat will wtf at and then go pee on the neighbours land instead.

I'd just use my hose...
Do you see the cat coming near your house or from upstairs? If so, hose him down or bucket of cold water from upstairs should scare him off.
Grandma always used to lay these ( http://www.naturalspices.eu/images/satestokje.jpg ) in her garden with the sharp en upwards so they didn't poo and pee in the garden anymore.

Perhaps could also block your garden out for the cat, eg. a small field of sate sticks and they won't enter the field as unlike on fences thay cant climb that.

I'm actually going to keep an eye on sensible answers here as ideally i would like to just scare it off too. It keeps walking on my cars too leaving little scratches :(

Mate, I feel for your problem. Ive got two cats, have tried everything everyone has ever suggested to stop them ****ing by the front door to no avail...

That would seriously pee me off, who does the cat think he is walking on a merc S class . Hosing it down is not enough, use your dogs!
EDIT: Surely you can get your dogs to bark if they smell the little brat taking a **** on your door or sitting on your car ?

I was being serious when I suggested lemon juice btw.

And for those thinking of killing the cat, please bear in mind that cats are a protected species by law so it is in fact a criminal offense to kill a cat under the Criminal Damage Act 1971

"Because the law regards cats as property, an offence may be
committed under this Act if a person, without lawful excuse, kills or
injures a cat belonging to another person."
