Im running on XP, your on vista , maybe thats why im happy with my card and your not so.. :D

Noticed you set 8xaa, i would just use the in game settings as you get very inconsistent results if people use the CCC and others use in game settings.

No game looks right at all.

Will i remember you stating that if you bought the 2900 knowing full well of the problems you would not complain about it....is that the faint smell of hypocrisy? ;)

<snip>

That looks like CCC hasn't applyed any aa and af (a known problem whereby aa and af won't stick in CCC. I get it unfortunatly :().

Yeah, the same settings as what Will used, i was a bit surprised by the result to as i have never used the CCC AA or AF in fear but it seems to rock at those settings.

Edit, LMAO, took squakingcow's suggestion and reapplied the setting in CCC, looks like Will's results are spot on. :( mind you them soft shadows to kill performance some what.

Excuse me, but the results I am getting are no way near the results of benchmarks I have seen, and also fan problems were not supposed to be as abd as this, and also from what people said it was better than this...

Then return it under the distance selling act and get another gts...

It was as squakingcow said in his post, the setting in the CCC for AA and AF were not applied in the game through some bug and that's why i had such high FPS in the first bench, i reapplied the setting in the CCC and that's the result in my last bench, soft shadows were enabled in both benches.

Try the benchmark again, this time use 0AA and then 2xAA or 4xAA

Keep CCC AF on tho.

EDIT : seems soft shadows does seem to kill performance from what I've seen I wouldn't know though as I've never used them. :p
