Dirt would be unplayable with more then 4xAA.

With 4x Aa it is too ... Ultra settings and 1920x1200 and its 20fps :(
Good job I only have the demo, and the game is pants anyway :)

Not impressed with AMD though, should have major performance increases appearing by now, looks like this 2900 will be fast after all ... fast moving out of my system :p

Hmm can i get edge detect for x1950pro just not at 24x aa lol which im fine with.

Also is this edge detect the fabled and mythical aa with no performance loss? Had a strange name if i recall that it was going to be and we were all waiting for it.

Not ATi's fault. You'll find with the full game that they released a patch and ultra settings were tweaked therefore the demo will remain untweaked. I have the full game and run it @ 1680x1050 with 4xAA ultra.

Edge is also the same as Box. It performs as good if not better than wide/narrow tent but avoids all the bluryness :D

Agreed, I can't understand the need for AA on anything other than edges generally, maybe interpolation between texels on a low res texture and I suppose any texture can become low res if you get close enough, but that should be taken into account at the programming level. General AA in hardware based on anything other than edge detection and "getting close to the texture" is just likely to cause needless blur.

Sometimes IQ loss can be due to the exact opposite ( i.e. lack of mipmapping )

you guys did get a performance increase.... ".. The ATI Radeon™ HD2400, HD2600 and HD2900 (single and CrossFire™) can see performance improvements of 13.2% or more in various Far Cry maps. "

Oh man.. like far cry is a current game *shesh*

Could you do some tests in DX10 with WIC and upload those results with WIC id be really interested in those. :)

Would be interesting to see, I have played with this benchmark a lot,

I am yet to reach 30fps AVG hit 28-9 all the time,

Funny thing is from between 1600x1080 > 1900x1200 AA,AF maxxed or off, it makes no difference to performace, ITs almost like there is a frame limiter in the game/drivers.

Ingame performance also appears better than the bench as has been widely reported on the net

Just updated WIC through the updater and now get this error in XP. And thats with 4gb but seeing 3gb as its xp 32bit

From the WIC Beta forums;

DX10 issues on ATI cards:
The DX10 features in World In Conflict are still being developed and tweaked.
The features have not yet been optimized for all cards and the current results
are not fully representative of either the final game or the performance of
all cards. We are currently working with ATI to resolve several issues
appearing when enabling DX10 on an ATI card.

Its hardly worth bothering atm till they patch it up.

Its at none, when i enable it to 15 + 20 it works and limits the fps

obviously 30 takes me to where i am now,

I dont recall seeing a bench with anything above 30fps avg at these resolutions

The full game wont have much performance improvements, they make out there will be but it just wont happen, might aswell get some benchies now to compare with the final product, its not going to be much different.
