Also I just totally maxed Stalker out at 1440x1050, and my fps outside was around 23 average :S

Just amusing that they used a card that been getting slated left and right this past few months, id assume a gts or gtx could have also fried it, just looks like theyre jumping on the "cool to bash the 2900 just cause" bandwagon.

Doesn't work like that, twice the apparent volume is +10dB and needs x10 the power at source. Twice the decibels is seriously loud. x2 the source power is 23% louder and +3dB.

Ive found that the 2900xt is a lot quieter than my x1900xt-x

mines sorted now, seemed it was a bad driver install. that said ETQW still wont launch with X24 AA in edge detect.

Yep, the 2900XT runs around the same temperatures as a GTS with sometimes 10 degrees lower idle temps.

Infact my CPU Core temp seems to have dropped 2 degrees at idle with this card due to it pumping out less heat.

Its not a driver problem, but apparently people dont get any noise from the fan, I'm just keeping it at 25%, if it dies, then oh well I'll return it and go get a GTS.

What, you keeping it a 25% in games or just idle in windows.
