I'm nuking my OS's soon, just gonna have 1 OS on now (Vista) Should I install the 7.7 drivers or stick with the 7.6 drivers for now you think?

Gareth, when you going to Crossfire the 2600XT's? :)

Iv just ordered one of them to have a play about with since the DFI Infinity P965 Dark is just so damn cheap just now, so looks like I'll buy a second at the end of August just to sample them in Crossfire :)

I went for the DDR3 version to see how it stacks up itself. I feel as if the 128bit bus in the end would kinda destroy the benefits of having the DDR4's bandwidth. I looked at a few reviews and there was roughly 1fps between them anyways

i was thinking of crossfireing with a ddr3 version but maybe isn't a good idea?

So after 15 pages, are these any good? (for x1900xtx)

From the first few it doesnt look great.

I think we can assume the 7.6's are the best, 7.7's offer the new AA settings, 7.8's we will now await as they SHOULD be the proper 7.7's

*dons the red tinted sunglasses* :D

Thought about stumping up the extra but I guess we'll see with the performance. As I said im fairly confident the mem bus will limit its benefits of DDR4. :) Least you have someone to compare results with now :p probably wont get it all installed until friday night

Ah right, well they need to match the clocks so I would assume the DD4 would clock the DDR3 to a too high clock and the DDR3 would downclock the DDR4. So best to stick with the same Mem types im thinking just incase ;)

I must be having some majour hardware problems.

I've been playing some games, and I've found the following games to be a lot slower than my GTS:

TRA
CSS
HL2
Lost Planet
ET:QW
Oblivion
F.E.A.R. XP

I tried TRA, 16xAA/AF, around 35-60fps, on 8800 I got 100+.

6xAA/8XAF (CCC), around 35-75 (vsync enabled), 0AA/16xAF, 35-60.

ET:QW, around 30fps all the time

CSS, 16xAA/AF, 1280x1024, stress test I got around 75fps.

Lost Planet, 4xaa/af, all full with emdium on shadows, 15fps.

F.E.A.R XP, 20-60fps

Oblivion 30-70fps, 1280x1024 all maxed 8xAA/16xAF.

Any ideas if there is anything with the Asus P5N-E SLi that could be causing problems, does the black PCI-E slot work better?

CSS is slower than this guy's system with an X1900XT and a pentium D 3.4Ghz atm.

For ET:QW have you uncapped the FPS if not then it will run at 30, the command is com_unlockfps 1

Seems like it wont run anymore :(, just crashes all the time now.

With ATi drivers are frame rates supposed to be a lot lower in Vista than XP?
