Tried it at the exact same settings:

Min, Max, Avg

Same exact clocks aswell on the GPU.

I'm using a C2D E6600 @ 3.2, 2GB Crucial Ballistix.

What the same track? ive heard Dirt is a very cpu intensive game so the quad core may be helping :/.

Still a good 35 fps ahead of me :P gnna have to overclock my card a bit more.

Will i have AA at 4x in game with it turned to application settings in CCC and AF is at 16x in CCC

Anyways im off to bed now so ill have to do the rest of my benching tommorow.

i want to know can the 2600XT do Dx10 with 15FPS+. if so, i'll buy it, turn stuff down for now, and upgrade to R700 or G92 when they come out.

How exactly is it broke? Seen as there are no proper, fully optimised games out that use DX10, this is being very pessimistic. DX10 is still very early in its life, and there are a lot of thing that both Microsoft and the GPU driver divisions can do to improve performance.

It is broke, there was a thread on it before, have you noticed the awfull DX10 performance on the 2900's compared to the 8800's and also the benchmark were the 8800GTS gets 100+ and the 2900XT gets around 3.2, DX10 for 2900's is broken at this moment in time, it does not work properly, thats basically what is happening at the moment.

Ok according to the Beyond3D forums

There is a bug with catalyst drivers with the HD2900: It seems, the Rightmark3D 2.0 runs with 2D-clocks on HD 2900XT (500/500 vs 745/825).

Does anyone want to confirm this and test?

Hardly broken, just a bug in the software. Benchmarks are not always indicative of real game performance.

Yea exactly, its broken for the moment, it will be months untill it's fixed, thats broke as far as I'm concerned, DX10 is broke within the software, dont have to be hardware to be broke.

So you're basing the entire of the performance of a card on one (obviously badly written) bit of benchmarking software?

It's not badly writted, what makes you think that? DX10 games perform badly too, a lot worse than on the 8800's, DX10 just aint working atm.

The reason for saying it was badly coded was the bug in the software, which is obviously nothing to do with ATI, I think that it's bad that the coders of the software have not yet made a fix for it, searching for Rightmark brings up http://rightmark.org/ but there is nothing on their site for the DX10 version, and the latest news under their D3D section is from 2004.

I do understand your frustration with DX10 performance, it's a pitiful situation atm.
