Catalyst 9.1

WHAT are you talking about ??? What doesnt work ? Your PC , Your Windows Install or your GFX card ? I Have been using ATI/AMD products for years and NEVER had a single issue , hardware or driver issues. Their drivers/products have always been rock solid IMO!

Must admit, that i've never had any major problems with ATI cards. I buy whatever is the best at the time and currently have a 4870X2 which I have also had no problems with, the apart from flickering textures in L4D which only happens if the system hibernates before you play. Not exactly a big deal.

I'll add that for the most part, I can't remember having any big problems with Nvidia cards either.

I've been happy with the drivers up until 8.12, and since then I blue screen an hell of a lot with a ATI3DVAG.dll being the cause. I rolled back drivers, used a driver cleaner and reinstalled older versions and the problem is still here.

A quick google of ATI2DVAG.dll BSOD brings up posts from 7 years ago!! Will it ever get fixed?

What about the nvklkldklldldllldlldlllddm issue with Nvidia cards? Did that ever get fixed?

Not siding, but each company has its problems.

Most driver issues are to do with the end-user instead of the drivers them selves.

Which is what I have more or less said. When I went to 4850 from 8800GTS512 I found out the display driver stuff was down to old BIOS (which got rid of it most the time) and upping the vcore (got rid of it all)

I put the Vcore down with my X2 a while ago as an experiment and it came back again

The way some people go on about ATI driver problems, I must be the luckiest person alive cos I've been through three different ATI cards in three completely different systems and I've yet to encounter any stability issues with the catalyst drivers.

i totally agree! ive had ati cards ever since the 9200 card i bought after my geforce 4 haha. drivers have never ever been a problem from me and ive been upgrading them every month without fail

yah! i mean, tbh. i think ati do a pretty damn good job with there drivers! and monthly releases is what i like. even better that theres sometimes 2 a month with a hotfix =] always worked great. it makes me wonder how people can have such problems O.o

Ive had maybe 2 problems with ATI drivers and ive been using ATI cards for quite some time now :)
A lot of these "Problems" are created by the end user though and blamed on ATI.

I had terrible problems with my CrossFire 3870s, but my 4870X2 has been rock solid since September (apart from purple textures in Left 4 Dead, which my laptop also gets from time to time).

Probably some truth in what you say, I've had 6 ati cards and never had any issues whatsoever.

How can driver installation be my fault for a good clean installation i download the latest drivers burn them on to a cd give the disc a good scrub in the sink (with the days dishes must think of the planet) could not find any driver cleaner so used three squirts of MR Muscle and a quick rub down with me brillo then towel dry this is very important, pop it in the George Forman for 10mins then install and what do i get for me troubles..? driver installation problems now you tell me how can that be my fault and not ATI's.....?

i take it you alt tab out of game then? click the app in the taskbar instead of alt tabbing back in, its a source engine fault when the textures turn purple from alt tabbing.
