Catalyst 9.1

Understanding what you have written makes me wonder would I be better off with a NVidia graphics option when building a HTPC..?

I was thinking about a...
Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H AMD 780G Micro-ATX

...board which uses the ATI 3200 onboard GPU. I assumed that this would have been a good option for 1080p via the HDMI socket, carrying both video and audio..?

PS - sorry for being a tad off topic :)

I believe the best HTPC mobos/gfx cards at the moment (at least the ones with fewest problems) are the nvidia 9300/9400 onboard ones. Stick in a cheapo core2 duo and off you go. The Gigabyte GA-E7AUM-DS2H has been getting good writeups from the HTPC community.

No.9, No.9, No.9, No.9, No.9, No.9, No.9, No.9, No.9, No.9, No.9, No.9, No.9, No.9, No.9, No.9.....................:D

Not quite as good as 'While my guitar gently weeps'

RoEy

No true, but when you are crawling into the corner of a couch, Number 9 is pretty "good".

That's news to me - quite interesting if true though.

still nothing on catalyst 9.1?? its the 17th already and still nothing? no beta? information? release even? we got 8.12 on the 10th if i remember right...

is it just me or is it after a month after the release of the last driver set, that i want the new drivers more each day? haha. but really. i wish i knew wot these drivers were gonna hold! and wots gonna be so special that they need an extra 2 weeks development compared to the last lot? lol

ATI are taking the P***

arghh i will never buy another ATI product im just sick and tired of there inmature driver support...

we gotta wait and yet wait some more and when the driver does get release we gotta wait and yet again wait.

1 driver a month isnt good enough. i have been to use to nvidias drivers poping up all over the place.., seriously though has ati employed monkeys for driver support.

I thought Nvidias drivers was few and far between, At least you always know that there is a new driver around a set date "well sort of" ;-)

I have gone over to crossfire on a fresh install of win xp and was using 8:12 could not always get crossfire to work, read forums and a lot of talk about 8:10 drivers so i try and what a change image seems so much sharper average fps is slightly lower but games feel so much smoother.
And crossfire works every time.
I like you guys can not wait for new driver but i would rather them get it right....

Nvidia release official drivers far less frequently than ATI - all these "leaked" drivers you seek are nothing to do with Nvidia officially releasing updates...

God, toys are well out of your pram, aren't they?

Does 9.1 bring good increases for the X2 (not that I really need them!)

Since the X2 launch drivers, all drivers have been absolutely fine for me.

I see your sarcasm meter was a little out of kilter for a minute :) The only serious bit was his comment on the quality of the drivers sometimes, not the frequency :)
