Influencer wanted free cakes instead of paying for them herself and the bakery said no. Influencer throws babies out of the pram. Bakery gets free exposure and influencer looks like a prat.

What has gone wrong with our society, influencers are genuinely scum of the Earth.

From experience the cake is a lie anyway...

Your two paragraphs contradict each other.

The bakery declined and got free exposure. Seems like society done good.

Just the epitome of freeloaders wanting something for nothing.

That said I'm not sure why the bakery is publicising their response either? A polite no thanks, or even just no reply at all and no-one cares right?
Maybe they wanted the publicity?

Exactly this, the email itself wasn't that bad and given it was also going to be advertised in a magazine, with an offer to use them professionally (maybe) for future events, it doesn't seem like the typical nobody wanting something for nothing.

They'd have probably got more business by doing it than being pathetic and posting their response.

This is a bit much lol.

That’s not what happened.

The bakery said no. The company who asked on behalf of the actor did nothing, didn’t go public at all.

The bakery published the conversation and then the actor responded. It wasn’t the ‘influencer’ who started the argument in public at all.

And now the agency is attempting to sue the bakery for defamation. If you send emails like that wanting 100 free cakes you should expect someone to go public

While it's a pretty arrogant thing for the promo agency to do (supposedly without said "celebrity's" knowledge), the response from the bakery was a bit OTT, and then posting it on social media was very much a **** move (at least without leaving the agency anonymous).

Assuming the story is true as written in the linked article then it seems the "celebrity" didn't really do anything wrong other than come forward and say it was nothing to do with her

And now the agency is attempting to sue the bakery for defamation. If you send emails like that wanting 100 free cakes you should expect someone to go public

Surely to be defamation it has to be a false statement?
